No, the Jaguar is... Hmmmm.... more elegant. It has definitively something Tornado like and the Jaguar layout.

The JH-7 reminds me of the BAC TSR-2, a product of the 1950's and 60's.

and the JH-7's powerplants, the WS-9 engine, is also a copy of the Rolls-Royce Spey RB.168 Mk. 202 engine, which is also a product and technology of the 60's.

ya know, i am real curious how their pilots are in dogfights...against either US, israeli, taiwanese or even indian pilots. Same goes for the rest of their military, and that they have never been in any real fighting...Maybe a little taiwan action would show what they are really made of.

Either the PLAAF are as good as they advertised, or they are just a bunch
of hot air. As far as training is concerned, the Indian and Taiwanese
fighter pilots have more average flight hours than the PLAAF pilots per
annum. So getting new equipments is one thing, but what is more
important is the personnel training.

It does resemble the Jaguar, but I think that it looks more like this plane:

Very similar, don't you think?

Now JH-7A use the "KunLun II" engine made in China.
