The Montenegrins decided that independence was the best course of action for them. That's their prerogative. But not many Montenegrins would deny their Serbian heritage. In fact, most Montenegrin national myths portray them as the greatest of the Serbs - not a separate people.

Not really, it was the destruction of the croat village of Ravno by serbian forcesThe Serbian forces did not exist back then it was the JNA, which included Bosniaks, Serbs...and the rest. Maybe the civilians took arms for an apparent reason?, but why would they do that in the first place?

Mass desertions of non-serbs started the day Croatia declared independence. I am not disputing some bosniaks croats macedones remained but the numbers of those who remained is irrilevant to the total %

And no civillians didn't take up any arms, there's really no justification for what the JNA did that day

I believe the Kingdom of Yugoslavia was an artificial American invention created in the aftermath of WWI. Maybe that's why the US first predicted the SFRJ dissolution

I was in the summer of 2005 in Czech Republic,Prague i was completly surprised that i speaking Croatian had no trouble to understand Czech language.

With the new organisation, I'm guessing they will be abolished. But there will be some recon element within each of the new Brigades.....Don't worry, you're still not an old fart at 26:)

With Bulgaria's and Macedonia's support to Ahtissari's Kosovo proposal...the list of Serbia's friends grows shorter and the list of enemies ever longer. The crisis session being held on Monday in parliment includes Kostunica's proposal to severe all ties with any countries that recognize Kosovo's independance. Oliver Ivanovic's calls for the armed independance of Serbs in Kosovo is also a serious threat. Milorad Dodik keeps sabre rattling in Bosnia and the Croats and Muslims there are saying nothing. Meanwhile in Montenegro, Serbs and Serbian sympathetic "montenegrins" surely will not leave their Albanian population unharassed. This is truly the framework for a pan-Balkan conflict. The will and wish for all Serbs to live in a unified Serbia is unquenchable, much as the same will and wish for all Albanians to live in an Albanian state. The differences are Serbian historical claims and modern Albanian demographic claims. Neither claim is wrong, and both claims are right. Greece, Macedonia, and Montenegro must understand that Albanian seperatists in those countries will rise up sooner or later. Stand by Serbia now to beat back the tide, or be enveloped in the future genetically dominated Albanian section of the Southeastern European Union. There is a prophecy that most Serbs live by and that is "after the dust settles from the final battle, those of us that remain will gather under one plum tree; fore the rest of us have gathered under the dandelion". ....sigh.... yes, but if u look that russia have still some credits in serbia or we can say in ex-yugoslavia (part of credits were deliveries of migs-29).....and that serbia found money very hard for restoring these migs in 2007/2008....who knows,maybe we continiue with migs...
last year was some discussion in news about gripen or about what serbian sky need for defence....but I belive that we will have some presure from nato, or we can say USA, in the future, and they will ``sell`` to serbia some used f-16, some scrap.

In Montenegro were left 17 G-4s, 4 Utva-75s, 5 Mi-8s, and 17 Gazelles. Since Montenegro does not intend to have jets in its airforce, only helicopters, there G-4s are just sitting there not being used so Serbia is going to ask for them back.

WHOAH...the Gripen is more than $45 million bud and the block 52/60 F-16s' run more than a basic Su-30 variant. Why would we purchase hand-me down MiG's when we could purchase a new Su for 40 million a piece? Russian hardware we know; we know there engines, their language, their missiles, radar, etc...no reason to buy anything western and have to change our entire logistical system.

i believe that future of serbian AF will depends of USA/NATO willing:

1. Serbia can use old migs, but need to make them compatibile with NATO standards...for exapmle like old west-germans MIGs-29
2. when you deside to buy some new plane,equipments and services, you will buy by our ``recommendation``, and will be when USA/NATO deside that....not only for planes, military in global

Comeone ppl, Serbia is now in ``partnership for peace``, or one step to Nato, so Serbia is not indipendent military anymore.There is no indipendent country in europe, only more or less....

Look at Greece for expamle, few years ago they bought some very fast boats for coast guards from Russia and I think some armoured transporters, and USA wasnt glad about that...of course not, but Greece doesnt care....Balcan souls;)....but Greece is part of NATO few decades

I hope that Kosovo -Serbia problems will be solved in peaceful way... Anyway Serbia is applying to NATO and as an European country have a right to be a member. This why I made remark about European fighters...That is so stupid. Why would anyone want to join NATO there is no more communist threat agianst Europe anymore! It should be abolished....That was it's whole purpose.

They are the same organization that bombed Serbia! I would never join NATO. What if they bomb another country like they did to Serbia, and manipulate the media....Don't become what your fighting. I like to refer NATO as "North Americain Terrorist Organization". And thats exactly what its is...

For the record...cybspec and I are not arguing...but I agree that we should get back to photos. If NATO had it their way...we would have already lowered the amount of soldiers in our army to about 20K, bought western aircraft, tanks, apc's, etc. And oh...nothing new...they'd all be hand-me-downs. Serbia is playing a game and its called "lets walk across the tight-rope and not fall, b/c one one side is a pit filled with tiger sharks and on the other a pit filled with great whites ;-) i just realized how incredibly f*ck*d we are ;-0

I can honestly say that that's the greatest pic I've seen in a looong time. Pure awesome. The lengths they went to for accuracy are astounding. It doesn't look like Photoshop, so I have to assume that it's actually a bunch of Japanese or Korean kids dressed up as Serbs (extra kudos for the beard and sajkaca).
