ACU design- need other camouflage

To all you gear whores out there. I'm a big fan of the layout of the new ACU; the design is awesome, it has all the right pockets, the right velcro etc. The camouflage I'm not so fond of however... I was wondering if any of you guys know if I would be able to get my hands on unforms with the layout of the new ACU, but in the old 3-color-desert and/or woodland... thanks in advance

The closest thing I have seen are the "RAID" style of uniforms made popular while the ACU's still hadn't been issued yet. The pockets were cut differently but the concept was the same. They removed the lower shirt pockets and added pockets to the outsides of each bicep and placed pile tape on each one.

They are made in 3 color, tan, od and black. They are made by True-Spec as the TRU I believe.

Are you getting these for real use, hunting, what?

I'm not a big fan of Tru-spec, as I have found their dye fades faster than Proppers. If you're not going to use it much, wouldn't matter.

Propper has started with their own version of both 5.11's and the ACU - which their ACU is only available in MARPAT and an "urban" ACU pattern. Hopefully they will get into the game and produce some in 3-color as well as solid colors. The ones Atlanco [TRU-Spec] have manufactured are of a very inferior quality compared to USGI issue.

MARPAT is camo perfect for central/east Texas, but the 63/35 poly/cotton fabric suck major ass in the heat/humidity...plus, as a former Cav Scout, wearing a Marine uniform with the eagle/anchor irritates me, and would bug any Marine worth his salt as well if he saw me in them.

ACUPAT just doesn't do it for me in the woods.

Your link is not to a 100% cotton ripstop, it's to the Twill uniform that they make and it's CRAP. Fades like a BAD t-shirt after one wash. It's heavy as HELL and is hot just the same.

The true-spec uniform from US Cav is rip-stop cotton and 10000 times better than the ones you've linked above.

i just got outta basic training, my only complain about the ACU is the velcro cargo pocket closure, it get useless after a while, and the pocket wont stay closed. the drawstring is queer too cuz nobody ****ing tucks it into the pants when they use it, sloppy sloppy, i'll square em away
