For those of you who don't know, Hal Moore commanded a battalion of US Army Air Cav in Vietnam, specifically the one involved at "LZ X-Ray" in the Ia Drang Valley where his battalion was surrounded for 3 days by over 4000 North Vietnamese troops. If I'm not mistaken, this interview was taking as they were being evacuated after breaking through NVA lines, no?

For some of those who still don't know ( ;) ) Mel Gibson portrayed Lt. Col. Hal Moore in the movie, We Were Soldiers.
