USAF Main Base in Kabul Afghanistan (Aerial Imagery), formally the . Mainly transport and combat helicopters along with other supply and transport military planes and a row of warthogs. If you pan to the surrounding countryside you will see that most of the buildings look abandoned, i believe people living around that airstrip were relocated due to them posing a security risk.

That is Bagram AB. There is an asfalted road going north and if you keep following that it will take you dirrectly to Kabul international airport. Interesting stuff, I was able to locate my apartment block where I grew up in Kabul.

don't see how its sensitive as the aerial imagery is not of high enough resolution to make out anything more than large objects and not guard posts or even location of fences.

Yeah the name of the base completely slipped my mind, thanks.

I assume you meant a road going South as Kabul is South from Bagram, not north. I have made the drive a few times myself. Some good imagery of Bagram when it was still in Soviet hands can be seen here:http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/afghanistan/bagram-imagery.htm

I'm glad that when I was there they did not have great accuracy with their mortars and rockets. Let's hope that they keep it that way. BTW, this picture is pre-2005 b/c they moved the jets.
It's Bagram AF, because it's run by an army general and we're just one of the subordinate units there under the command of CJTF-76(unless they changed the #) There's only a handful of us compared to how many coalition and US forces there are.

There are also some people that live near the perimeter. If you drive on perimeter road you can see some livestock and children usually give you thumbs up. They live a few hundred yards away I think. There's also a sign on the fence saying not to give MREs and water to people over the fence.

There are also EA-6B Prowlers, derelict Mig-21bis and a flyable An-2 Colt in the ops parking near a C-130E.
Most pictures on Google Images are usually 1 to 2 years old, no worry.
Also HUMINT is of much more value to the Talebans than satellite images...

Yup, you can't imagine how many local nationals are on the base with all types of jobs. OPSEC OPSEC OPSEC is what they tell us all the time, and you damn well better believe there's some spying going on.
Note the C-17 at the south end of the runway. Looks like crash-rescue vehicles around it.

I remember back in 04 they had a 130 full of USAF security forces leaving after a 6 month deployment. They had an IEF and were flying around for 3-4 hours dumping fuel before they landed. The idiotic airfield management told us to stop looking at the 130 landing or else they'd arrest us, haha. They also had to dump their pallets(with their personal effects) on the bombing range. Damn their luck!
