Hey Spartan, looks good for your fist try, but you should use chalk (brown and white) and mix it with water.
Imo it looks better than, but at the moment it looks good also. ;)

yeah, but all the dirt around my house is either white or black..... not tan or brown

Very nice attempt! I personally would brown out the red dirt for he looks like he was in a one man fire fight with fighters in Faluja. And maybe after his extremities were hit one to many times he might of pulled out?! I swear MVSpartan your troopers are a bunch of war Junkies! lol Nice pics..
