Nice...It always made sense to me to have detachable magazines on tactical/combat shotguns. Reloading a tube feed shotgun is too slow.

I remember seeing an AK based shotgun with combined semi auto and pumpaction design (note for those that don't know there are some shot gun rounds that are quite useful (to police and paramilitary units) that don't generate enough recoil or enough gas to cycle an auto and must be used in a pump action).
Such a design is reasonably common in the west... even the old SPAS 12 (known as the shotgun in Half Life) can be set to fire as an auto, semi auto, and pump action gun.

The MK series saigas look like the real military version AKs. They can fire only in the semiautomatic mode.

A saiga in .308 & .30-06!!!!!!!
I have heard of the.308 version but no one has ever been able to answer the my question on the bore diameter. Russian .30 caliber is around .310-.311
U.S. .30 caliber is .308. What diameter do they make this barrel in?
If .308, I must look up both .308 and .30-06 versions. Are they exported to the U.S.?

Naturally .308 & .30-06 are .308 diameter, it is only that originally Russian calibers like 7,62x53R and 7,62x39 are .311.

Saigas rifles come in various calibers 7.62x39 , 223 , 308 etc
The Saiga 100 models come in 308 and 30-06 . Yes they are available in the USA, just look here http://raacfirearms.com/Saiga_100.htm

I have a Saiga in 7.62x39 (yes this is the military cartidge MrJack) and it is a great weapon. I easily and legally converted it to military configuration with black polymer stock, pistol grip and fore grip. It can also accept any AK type mags after the conversion. These provide a great and inexpensive way to own a quality Russian made AK which are way better than the WASR's, Madi's and the flood of AK clones on the market. The .308 version fires the standard 7.62x51 Nato round, the 30.06 fires the standard 30.06 round used by the US military through WWII. 308 (not Win 308) and 30.06 are totally different cartridges.

Saiga 12 with Chinese side folder. IMOP more functional than left side folder. The right side folder allows optics to be mounted while stock is folded. Grenade launcher buttplate greatly reduces felt recoil.

Jippo, I know the calibers and bore diameters, I have just never been given an answer as to whether the Russians re-tooled for the "American" bore diameter or stuck with the Russian .30 cal. diameter and chambered for an "American" round. It would work, but accuracy would suck.

It's a standard (SAAMI in the U.S., C.I.P in Europe), and cannot be changed like that. Normal ammunition factories follow these and that's it.
I know that it is possible to use .308 bullets when home reloading certain .311 calibers, but doing it the other way will be very dangerous because of the chamber pressure. But certainly this is only for a certain weapon and in certain limits, a risk that ammunition manufacturers can not take.
Same goes for weapon manufacturers, you can not call a weapon with .311 bore diameter a .30-06 since it is not. It would be a wildcat.

I have never slugged my Saiga .308, but it will shoot 1.25" groups all day long. Most will, I can assure you the Ruskies are very capable of making barells in any caliber. (They retooled for .308) The Saiga line in general are all top shelf quality.

Could anybody say which one is better Vepr-12 Molot or Saiga 12-Exp? Cause I heard different opinions.
Anyway here is Vepr-12 Molot (WildBoar-12 Sldgehammer) based on RPK.
