Well, what a year for the DOTW award it was.

It's establishment was brought about as a consequence of one of those little **** storms of stupidity that occasionally infests this site, the details of which are long forgotten. It was suggested by, but of course, a mod who also happens to be an Australian. Suprise, suprise.

There was laughter, there were tears, there was controversy, there was self righteous chest thumping, recriminations, accusations, tantrums, but most of all there was......

Absolute, unadulterated, distilled gratification. Which is really what it's all about.

The forums have been known to frequently be biased towards the owner's opinions. Partially due to the large size of the forum, it also suffers from an inconsistent application of forum rules. Indicative in this respect is the regular "MP.net Dumbarse of the week" thread, which is sanctioned by the site admin. In this thread, a member who has posted controversial material in the previous week is selected, and the floor is opened for anyone who so wishes to abuse that member.


It's sad that Hood is the one being (dis)credited here and I'm sure has nothing to do with whatever beef the author has. Whoever you are, try talking to Hood sometime he's quite reasonable.
