"Presideath of USA", faces of the fallen. I say that it feels a little tasteless to use
the fallen like this. :| What do you think?
http://www.antiwar.com/photos/perm/bush-puzzle.jpg
Been posted before. And it sickens me.
Also, good on yah to state you think it is tasteless, and not do like others, ranting and raving about it's "truth".

Well i'm not a moore fan in the first place.
He always used the emotions of good people (maybe too good) for his own (political) agenda. And now by using the fallen he has sunk to a new low. :bash:

According to Cambridge International Dictionaries:
Sod off means go away.
Oh sod off, you stupid git!
She told him to sod off.
According to the Dictionary Of Slang:
Sod off Verb. Go away. Imper. Mild compared to '**** off' or 'piss off.'

Actually, Evan from Brain-Terminal managed to go up to Moore on the street and interview him. Despite the fact that he's a manipulative asshole, he's relatively bright and seemed to be more than willing to talk and even discuss things (and even confirmed the fact that his movies are meant to be more like opinion pieces than documentaries).
With that said, I still don't really like the guy. I just want people to realize that just because he's a fanatic liberal doesn't mean he's stupid or anything.

He wouldn´t be famous if he didn´t have those millions and millions of fans. He
is quite famous here in Sweden (and well, in Europe) with his documentaries
aired on TV, his books translated to the different languages etc. He lives on being
anti-Bush, and he takes up all these stereotype Americans things, as guns and so
forth, so that we can sit there and laugh at you.
Vote Kerry and he will soon be a nobody and the world will love you again.

Moore's "documentaries" were abit funny., they are fine videos with Moores opinions. But many people believed everything from his videos and other things. I would not have done that bush image with the dead from Iraq. Moore is a provokateur.

The photo is not actually made by Michael Moore, or produced for him for that matter, rather it was provided courtesy of the American Leftist.
http://amleft.blogspot.com/
The portrait constitutes the faces of 706 of the fallen, all on the account of Bush's political agenda and 'image': "the war president'
This is what his 'image' comes at the expense of.
FallenAngel
04-20-2004, 02:12 AM
^ Only you would find that site convincing.
I suppose the leaders of the 40 something other nations involved in the Coalition in one way or another want to improve their "image" as well.
And what about all the Dems in Congress that approved the deployment of US forces to Iraq? Was that for their "image" too?
Face it, if this war was truly as bad as all these (relatively) uneducated leftists think, then logically SOMEONE in Congress would start a motion to withdraw the troops from Iraq. The President can only deploy troops for 60 days without Congressional approval. Congress can at any time withdraw that approval and thus bring out troops home.
The fact that not one of the 535 members of Congress has done anything close to that officially.....I don't understand why people blame Bush. If you want to blame someone- FINE! Like I care. But for the love of God, blame the right people!

A word from the artist:
On 'War President'
Given this image's inflammatory nature, I posted it with a great deal of trepidation. I had a hard time deciding if it was the right thing to do and I am still not sure. No, I didn't have the consent of the families of those pictured, and I apologize for any additional pain that this image causes them. That said, I must say that it is my belief that one distinguishing characteristic between art and other forms of speech is that art takes risks, and if we, as a society, value art we must allow it more leeway than other modes of expression to incite or offend.
'War President' is meant to be a satirical commentary, informed by the whole project of using the dead as political props. I'm not making a dime off the image, and never will attempt to do so. Given this lack of financial or other crass motives, other recent instances of the politicization of the dead strike me as more morally questionable: the coffins of the victims of 9/11 showing up in a political advertisement, the continued suppression of images of the funerals of those lost in Iraq from the mainstream American media, and images of the 9/11 disaster in a campaign ad. A certain party stands to benefit greatly from all three of those instances of politicization.
I'd also like to point out that 'War President' is an image. It is not a textual statement or rhetorical argument. An image is like an empty room and any message that one reads in that room necessarily came in the baggage one carried when one walked in the door. If I made a mosaic of George Washington composed of images of the American dead from the revolution, would viewers likely take that image as an indictment of Washington? I submit that they would not. It would be viewed as a monument to the dead and a celebration of a great leader, a somewhat maudlin monument maybe but surely not offensive. The fact that 'War President' is not viewed such a manner is not due to any intrinsic property of 'War President' but lies somewhere else.

You have to be kidding? The most educated, scholarly and academic individuals come from the left. People like Noam Chomsky, and Charles Townshed. Don’t get too hung up on these radical 'leftist' street protestors. Half them only contribute to such movements for a place of belonging, and are often attributed to 'collective behavior' movements. The true leftist intellectual fights their battles with pen and paper.

Some individuals fail to recognize the actions of one nation affect the global community as a whole and cause a rhythm of repercussions in the after-reaction. I wouldn't be sure as to say "the most". There are conservatives who are just as well educated, if not more so. Granted there are the intelligent and intellectual liberals....but that almost is the core problem. At least in the way I see it, liberals want to create utopia. They assume everything can be settled through compromise and that everyone should be able to do (pretty much) whatever they want as long as it does not hurt others. Conservatives on the other hand realize that reality is not uptopia. Should it be? Well, that's almost a moot point. The fact is that Conservatives stand up for ideals. Liberals tend to be hypocrits far more than conservatives- at least in my experiance.
Do they have good intentions? I am most certain that they believe they do- but then again the road to hell is paved in good intentions. Do they profess what they believe in with everything they have? Many do, although one can not be sure it's becuase they want to change things or, as you stated, just want to belong to something "radical".
