Good pics Argyll. :D. Especially the ones with the Blackhawk in them.

That was the day Tony Bliar was in Baghdad in December past, these Choppers were part of the Security Op, they all came in to land, as you can see, but they blocked our exit, as we inched forward, the Blackhawks side shifted to let us pass, it was an amazing thing to see.......after they touched down, I went to speak to the crews, to see if we could get a team pic in front of the birds before they stowed the guns away.......they were more than accomodating, and when I gave the door gunner my "Widow Maker" badge, he was chuffed to bits!!

did you see any other Iraqi Government armour aside from the T-72?
do you know if they are being effectively used?

Argyll

I've seen BMP1's and 2's on flatbeds heading North, there's a couple of T72's that sit on the Canal Bridge at Ramadi, I've been trying to get pics of any of the old Russian stuff.

Nice pix. Here's a dumb question, do you have to buy your own weapons, or does the company provide?

Argyll

How do you like M-21, they seem to be pretty "widespread" in Iraq these days

Hi Argyll,

glad to see you're still at it mate... looks like I've got another tour coming up later this year (from the sounds of it I'll be stuck at Victory though which will be hell). Enjoy your leave mate.

I believe Argyll is issued one.

And he's not happy about it.

do you know why?

Because it's a scaled down AK, for a 5.56mm weapon, it's still as heavy as the 7.62mm version, it lacks the adaptability of the M4 unless you bastardise off market parts.

The magazines are heavy and bulky and sharp, and you cannot fit them into M4 pouches in pairs, you need to bulk everything up on it.

I've used the M4 for tha past 2 years, and it's a dream compared to the M21.......there's nothing I like about the M21.

I feel sad for the poor Mig-29 and Su-25. What happened to all those former Iraqi AF's jets and army's vehicles anyway?
