Haha, hats off you fellow mortarman! Are you 60's, 81's or 120's ? Judging by the picture I take it you're 60's. Do you guys even use the m16/m19 plottin' boards anymore these days or do you do it all with the mortar ballistic computers and do ya' still lay in the gunline with the m2 aiming circle ?

good ole m2, we are the "ranger arms room" concept, we have and train on all 3 systems, I've fired lots of rounds of each one, mostly either being a gunner or in squad leader position (not lots of ncos in the begining of unit). We use plotting boards still mostly for training purpose only. We have MBC, but dont use em, but Ive been trained on all that **** when I went to IMLC at benning. We use better stuff now :D Although my section is mostly a 60mm section, but funny thing is most of my experience is in 120mm and doing FDC lol

Indeed. I have a terrible memory. :) Hahah, being a mortarman will never be a forgotten mos! So when my time's up in the Marine Corps poppin' off 81's, what's the army 120's like. I'm an 81's guy! FDC but before IMLC in may I was gunner for a year and some change. 81's charge 4 illum really punches you, I can't imagine what a 120mm feels like!
