I doubt he can even read what the shirt says. He probably just thinks it's a picture of Jesus or something

I don't recall America colonizing or own anything in Africa. If the third world African nations want to blame, they should blame on Europe. It's all about jealousy.

Jealousy is just one of many things jack.
They look at the U.S. as having lots of good fortune, and they are stuck living in the arsehol of the earth.
Jealousy is only one of the things they have for the U.S. and the west in general.
If i remember correctly, after the Rwandan genocide, alot of rwandans were switching over to islam because they felt that christianity failed them. You can see why islam is becoming a very popular religion in these parts of the world. especially fundamental islam.

Just replace 'US-imperialism' with "Globalisation" and the USA are as guilty as we Euros.

I did and don't worry. I think I know perfectly well what globalisation means. I have a few friends work in technology field and now they are unemployed because we evil Americans plan to take over the world by sending jobs oversea to some upper class Indian/Chinese workers to earn money and pay for their 2 houses.

2. I don't see your point. Do you think the africans profit from the globalisation?

Sure, we will think about investing in their economy if they stop tribal genocide.

Vietnam was dirty poor BEFORE U.S. started to investing money in VN's economy, but what do I know? I only been in Vietnam 3 times ('89, '92, '01). I did not see any American fast food chain or Britney Spears dress-alike in '89 and '92. Now it's everywhere. Everybody benefit from globalisation.

I think the guy who lost his job to an asian dude and the african childworkers who ruin their health for a western shoe company didn't profit of it.

I didn't say that the USA ever did any harm to congo , (the european states, the old colonial powers, are more guilty in this context). But africans feel a bit left out of globalization, since they don't benefit from it at all. And so they look for somebody responsible or more a scapegod and the USA just deliever a good target becuase of their global presence.
Anyway you can't deny that the western states, not only the USA, can be taken responsible for Africa's situation. In fact the western states are the ones who drive and steer the globalization with such institutions as the IMF or the Worldbank. And so as creators of globalization they are also responsible for the economical situation in africa. For instance cooperating with african regimes in order to exploit the continent's natural resources. Like it had been done in Nigeria until 1998 and still continues although Nigeria now has an '''''elected''''' government. In this country as well the Islam spreads, some northern states even installed the sharia law. This may be a result of an attitude that sees the influence of modern world only as negative.

Either that or begging on the street and starve to death. In undeveloped nations people would do anything to find a job. This is why we call this globalisation. US companies outsourcing both high paying jobs (computer tech and service related jobs) and bad jobs (manufacturing) oversea. Sorry, the world is not perfect.

Do you have a job? You ever been oversea at all?

Africa has had a previous attempt at accepting goodwill from the United States before. It also didn't work out too well.

I am talking about the founding of the nation of Liberia, (as in, LIBERTY) with the Capital City Monrovia being named after then U.S. president James Monroe in 1847.

It was intended to be an attempt to make ammends for the horrors brought upon the newly-freed former slaves of the American colonies. Like so many other efforts that started with good intentions in Africa, it too soon became a a total loss.

After seeing Bill Clinton demonstrate his lack of backbone to deal with the Rwandan genocide in the wake of the Somalia debacle, anti-U.S. sentiment has flourished over there. Remember the USS Cole? Africa. Remember the Tomahawk strike on the "pharmaceuticals" factory? Africa.

I am not trying to say EVERY African hates the U.S.; Far from it. But folks, the reality is, not everyone in the known universe is a big fan of the Stars & Stripes.

Hell, I have photos I took of T-shirts for sale in a Brunei marketplace with the dopey face of Saddam silk screened all over them, complete with Scud Launcher and all! And this is just AFTER desert Storm!

Africa is a world unto itself, and frankly, I for one am glad I am not over there. They can have it, as far as I am concerned. But to fret about some AK-toting idiot with an OBL shirt is something not particularly worthy of a lot of attention. You can find equally offensive/distasteful things ANYWHERE on the internet within 5 minutes, without even trying. (Try White Supremacy/skinhead sites, for starters, or see what some Americans think about their "beloved" BATFE on some of the more militant pro-gun sites.)
I mean, look at the photo-mosaic of George W. made from fallen Warriors. Surely THAT trash is equally worthy of concern(given that it was created in our region of the World) as some grinning fool with a "please-shoot-me" t-shirt....

Oh good, another intelligent movement in Africa. Lets see if they can manage to completely cram themselves up into the world's butthole this time. As if they don't have enough problems...
