I don't know abot FF incidents but it is pretty obvious(easy to tell) who is who, to Russians atleast.
When it gets somewhat challenging is in cases like this:
http://pro.corbis.com/images/0000382199-014.jpg?size=67&uid={a068cf34-0092-4bbd-be81-6a6cc99e8739}

They are Chechens but on the Russian side...although their appearance doesn't look much different from the ones fighting Russians.
And frequently it creates confusion and serves as a source for speculation/misunderstanding: Lets say someone looted your house or done something bad to you or your family, how do you know who is it - pro-Russian Chechens, Russians or terrorists?
Although human rights organiztions always seem to know the answer... ;)

I can pick a happy scene out: Soldier returns safe and sound and give the teddy back to his daughter and tells her it kept him safe and warned him of dangers.....or maybe that it helped him to think of her when things were bleak and helped him fight to survive or whatever....

Either way, the dude somehow looks more badass with that Teddy hehe.... Also kinda cool how it sorta matches his camo....

Oh and Russian Texan, it is farily easy for Chechens to tell the difference between Russian troops and Chechen rebels....When they report these things to human rights watch they know what they are talking about......Also when human rights groups witness 15 BMP's and 4 T72 tanks and troops go in and ransak a village there is little doubt: Chechens cant muster anywhere near that........Even if there are cases where Chechens are not telling the truth about it dont you think there is a good reason why they lie: Because they dont want Russian there in first place and I wonder why not?? Read below before responding hehe.

Dont get me wring, I support Russian efforts and the right to not let Chechnya secede from it and that it is Russian territory. I support that 100%. Russian troops have every right to be there and I suport thier goal of stamping out Islamism..........But I dont like it when people (not you necesarrily) lie about whats going on and want to pretend as if its all the Chechens doing bad stuff and the people really want Russian troops there.... THEY DONT!!!

Some do and some don't, same as US troops in Iraq or Afghanistan...
Common Chechens are tired of war, they want their kids to go to schools, being able to get medical help in hospitals, recieve pensions etc. And the only people who can provide them with thaty are Russians...

Personally, I think that Russia should build a wall around Chechnya, surround it with minefields and let the enjoy their very own "islamic state", but that is just me...

Yes, but they are playing catch up, trying to make up for the last 10 years of internal upheaval and economic ruin. In addition, they are moving to a professional army, which will take several years to develop and implement. All in all, I would say the world is safe from the "Red Menace" for another 10 years at least.

I forgive Russia for taking a little Finnish territory during ww2.

In the words of a Soviet general: "Just enough land to bury our dead."

Yeah, Russia can keep that land, by now derelict, polluted and inhabited by Russians. It's not considered prime property any more, not even the old Swedish Hanseatic town of Viipuri/Viborg/Vyborg. Just keep the cheap gas flowing and try to work out the security issues with tourists. Otherwise our handouts might stop trickling into the pockets of poor Karelians.

As for that funny comment about natural resources... Who would want to go to war for Russia's natural resources? Russian "biznizmen" and politicians have been selling their country piecemeal for years. How much do Russia's vast natural resources benefit Russian people? Seriously, I rank environment issues and exploitation of natural resources as the number one problem in Russia today. Human rights come second, then corruption.

Just eat the humble pie, comrade. Russia needs Europe and the US to sort out their mess of a country. Then they can go back to the "respect my authoritah"-routine, rattling their sabers at smaller countries. That seems to keep the masses happy.

Spermskii, isn't using your own language as a secret code on an English forum kinda like playing with yourself? And, as I pointed out earlier, online translators take the fun out of it.

Translate this... kusipää.

I forgive Russia for taking a little Finnish territory during ww2.
