View Full Version : Female soldier entering mosque in Iraq: Any info?

The MEMRI blog has this (http://www.thememriblog.org/blog_personal/en/316.htm). Any one know any information about this? I'm guessing the soldier is a Muslim. Is it routine to go into mosques in Iraq with a gun to worship? Or for American Muslim soldiers to step into mosques at all?


MEMRI has come across an Islamist Web Forum that posted pictures of what they claim to be a female American soldier entering an Iraqi mosque to pray. One of the forum members asks how this female American soldier can kill Muslims and then enter a mosque to pray. Others respond that she needs to be killed.

MEMRI has not been able to verify the location of the mosque or the authenticity of the claims above. The pictures are posted below and the face of the "female American soldier" has been blurred to protect her identity:

Even if it was real i don't see a problem muslim is muslim they believe in the same god and creed.


Others respond that she needs to be killed.

judging by the patch on her sleeve shes a pencil pusher, or somthing like that. plus she african american. doesnt look fake to me. and she probaly unloaded her weapon before entering the mosque, left her body armor in the vehicle with the rest of her croneys.

Real, fake, or just in another Mid-eastern country, I find it funny the reactions from the forum respond with "Oh noes! American soldier in mosque! We are all doomed! Aaaargh!" when the guys at the mosque don't really seem to care.

Anyone ever considered the fact that she might have a fully armed US platoon right outside the mosque?

And by the way, she would not be allowed to enter the mosque with her m-16 loaded! Does Christians walk into churches with loaded guns? Nope, not if they donīt want to provoke!

Therefor, she unloaded it outside the mosque while her 'collagues' stood guard for her outside...

That's the only conclusion I could draw out of this anyway...

That's not Qatar. US personel are not permitted to be armed off post (legally).

actually in parts of the US where there are concealed carry laws, yes they do carry in church, but anyway, why would she need to go to a mosque outside of her base/camp, they have facilities for religious services on base, no need for a pointless and possible dangerous jount to an outside one....her collegues guarded outside...not that they would have anything better to do, besides guarding one person while they prayed?...yeah that happens all the time

She then would need not carry unloaded rifle into mosque. Leave with platoon.
