Magnificent!
I can't read Russian, so I can't tell, are the PM and PMM are different in only the magazine capacity and frame width in the grip area?
:P

Whats up with this book? Who made it?
I see your "best pal Undo" in Kedr pics, yet you failed to indentify him, or is it that you dont "know" him from that angle? :|
Other than that, nice pics.... thanks.

Permskii:
Is the PSM 5.45 the handgun that carries the reputation of being capable of defeating lightweight kevlar body armour?
Have you had the opportunity to shoot one?
What are your impressions?

That is correct sir. PSM penetrates 2 classes of armor.
It was originally made for KGB.
I had a chance to shoot one last summer. Put a good 50 rounds through it. No kick, very reliabale, one of the most accurate hand guns I've shot. Too bad only 8 rounds.

I wanted to ask you this.
How did you get into Russian stuff? What do you like about it? I'm interested in knowing, especially since you are an American. Correct?
Hey Permski, as usual, kick ass post.... This one gets 5 out of 5 stars on the "obd Permski post rating scale". Your last post on Russian troops in Chechnya got 4 out of 5 due to grainy low res pics herheheh....but good content saved it.... I have a question for you: How are the rounds aranged in the Bizons magazine and how do they feed into the gun... Its a helical arrangment but by chance do you have a cutaway pic or diagram of how bulets are arranged in this odd looking circular magazine and how they feed???? Mwuhahah, I bet this will be challenging for you to answer ......

Q1: Why you use so many calibres? 9mm 5,45mm 12,5mm 12,3mm? 4,5?<--ok this one I understand isnce it is underwater flechette, but reast of them?.
Q2: How many of them are in real use, by real I mean more than few dozens prototypes, and used by i.e police ,army ,FSB , etc.

He he
Haven't seen a pp90m in some years. What a vicious little bullet hose.
What is the deal with the 12.5mm Gnom
Still in production?

There is a winding device on one end of the tube magazine, which rotates the feeding mechanism. If I remember correctly, each bullet is held in place in individual plastic indentions. It is difficult to explain. The most brilliant thing about the magazine is that if you miss a chamber (i.e.-round, round, no round, round) the feeding mechanism will simply spin past that empty chamber and feed the next available round. We have some video of this being loaded (by V. Kalashnikov himself) and also a bunch of photos. Wait one and I will try to dig up the pics.

Wow Undo..Do you have some cut throug pics? I'm curious how different from calico magazine bizon's is :)
Okay, here are some pics. Sorry, no cut-throughs. I am pretty sure we disassemble the mag at one point, but cannot find those pics. I will check the vids.
Anyway, you can get a good idea of how it works from these pics. The winding mechanism is on the right in these photos. There is a button under the guy on the rights left thumb that holds the winding mechanism in place so you don't have to compress the spring while you try to load. You then simply drop the rounds into the mag.
