Is the best tank T-34 (USSR)??

Discovery channel made a list for the best 10 tanks.T-34 took the first.How can it be?Is that the best abrams???

Well man try the search. There is no real "best" in whatever.
I have to hold back and not to kake a bad comment which would just lead to an infraction,so try the search and even if you have done so there is no real answer for you whos the best questions

It was well balanced and advanced design in it's time and made significant contribution to the victory of the USSR in WW2. Of course it does not mean that T-34 would knock out Abrams, it just means that guys at Discovery Channel thought it was the most important tank ever produced.

An Abrams, or any modern tank, would probably put an APFSDS round through the front of a T-34, and out the back again.

I've heard of a Challenger putting an APFSDS through two T-55's parked side by side in Iraq.

Similar stories of CR1's and Abrams in GW1, T-55/T-72 parked behind berms with the engines running - engine signature was picked up on thermals, and APFSDS were put through the berms into the tanks.

it is made with the abrams but our gun is longer by one meter(a6 version)with a graiter velocity

And yes... T-34 i alot better then abrams.. My father told me that hes granfather told him that in 1944 a T-34 ambushed and destroyed a large convoy of M1's and M2's..

For its time, it has a very formidable tank and certainly one of the great all rounders. An excellent design. However, you cant really compare a 40's tank with a design forty years later .

^T-34 was rated as the best tank of WWII by the History Channel here in the U.S. awhile back. I can't remember what show it was though.

Well, right now the Leopard 2A6 has the best gun. But remember the M1A2 weights about 10 Tons more which means it has more Armor.

i watched that show and they rated tanks for different features for their time period, which included firepower, innovation, production ammount and so on. the reason that the tank won was b/c they were produced at over 1000 per month, it was the first to employ sloped armor, it could take a beating, as well as dish out a beating and it was simplistic, hope that clears up your confusion, they also have the 10 best rifles as well, both are good shows

i saw this show, its called "top 10". t34 was considered the best thank by several factor but of course for the WWII era, by now it is obviously outdated. the factors that where used in the decision was, ease of production, service life, fear factor, armor, and firepower . the t34 was found to have the best most effective balance among all these factors, also in the list was the t55 series and the m4 sherman.


p.s. not tryin to make an arguement but the leopard didn't even make the list the leopard did not make the list but it did get honorable mention, mainly that there are other similar designs that have had more world impact, like m1 abrams, merkava, and challenger.

Well, right now the Leopard 2A6 has the best gun. But remember the M1A2 weights about 10 Tons more which means it has more Armor.

The extra armour doesn't really matter that much. Any modern MBT is going to be able to shoot through another without much problem.

a leopard a6 can be hit in front by its own caliber (bigger velocity than a m1a2 or most tanks )and still continues doing its job

"Over the past century, dozens of tanks have been designed and built to blast their way across the battlefield. Based upon expert opinion, audience polls and a technical comparison, the producers constructed a five-point matrix to rank the all-time top 10 tanks. Each tank was assigned a score in the following categories: firepower, armor (protection), mobility, production and fear factor. The tanks' marks in each category were then added together to produce an overall score."

go to the discovery channel website to look it up if you don't believe me, they also have the top ten combat rifles, fighting vehicles, fighting ships, and bombers. each has their own set of guidelines for scoring

dam the panther didnt get in ......i think the panther could of been better than the t-34 but for all those reliability probs it had because the prodution was rushed.......
