im doing a project for school(aviation) and im supposed to write a 25-30 page report based on an engine...we are asked to contact manufacturers for technical manuals...so i need to pick an engine and get the most information i can about it...maybe you guys can help me out...i think none of my classmates has chosen a russian engine...i assume there isnt much info in english but if there is any of any engine that one of you could help me with i will appreciate it....it can be turbofan, turbojet, turboprop or turboshaft....thanks a lot....

why don't you pick a homemade engine. I found a website where a guy builds several of them and meticulouusly details every aspect of their construction. Pretty amazing builder. www.rcdon.com

A Turbine will be hard to build.
Much easier would be a valveless pulsejet with works without any moving parts.

You're complicating your life mate... especially if you need to have 25-30 pages. No manufacturer, eastern or western, will provide that much info on any engine. See what literature you have available and then pick a subject, not other way around.

Well - manufacturers supply tech manuals to the DoD for maintenance and repair - and all the unclas stuff will be available somewhere. You can start here I guess and see what you can find. There's bound to be endless diagrams and pubs about older engine types that have been on the KC-135, B-52 etc. forever...

"stirling warning"

This sounds like one of those posts "I work for Defence Company in Melbourne Australia and part of my job is the study of Military weapons. My current project is the SCAR. Can you guys help me out."

Maybe lokito50 should have selected a Liberal Arts degree instead.

It sounds like one of those posts "Hi guys I need help on a subject...", people reply, but the starter is gone forever. In the meantime two other guys start flaming over the subject and thread gets locked...
