Excelent post osnunez.
It's amazing to me how a few psychotically zealous assholes,(on both sides) who think they know what's best for society, can totally **** up the game for everybody else.

I watched all 14 parts. There is some shallow reasoning in certain areas, and a lot of guilt by association, but overall it's a good investigation of how the Radical right thinks, and operates. Another good documentary on the Radical right is "Stealing an election; the story of Tom Delay", about how Tom Delay created 5 new House seats and broke countless Campaign Finance laws to ensure a Republican majority.
...Neo-con agenda is finished.
In your dreams... Bush is finished though, but he's not up for re-election anyway.
...The "eternal war" option is so wrong. How can believe in this ideology?
Don't know about "eternal"... But evil is not going to go away and it won't give up without a fight.

I agree with you...I do not know nothing about eternity..
However, the world is more complex.
.....America is a democratic country and the neocon legacy is finished, forgotten and sentenced like any other failed ideology.
...About evil, i prefer the dark force in nature.:)

I definetly agree with you there. It's not like the information is all true and not biased , but it's still worth a watch and worth thinkg about. Now that the Dems are comming into power, how much do you really think is going to change? Not much. Neh, it's the way it's always been.

Neocons sure are evil, manipulating rats... Wolfowitz and Perle, evil as evil can be!

I don't see them as real neocons, more like lobbyists.

OK, so this is the British BBC documentary "The Power Of Nightmare" originally in three parts, now cut into 14 parts to fit into youtube. This must be a few years old now. There was talk of making a cinema version also.

Well they weren't just lobbyists, Wolfowitz was Deputy Secretary of Defense and Perle at one stage Chairman of the Defense Policy Board, they had real power. Who would you call "real" neo-cons?

The poster did a disservice to this documentary by calling it "the Neocons"... as this is a totally loaded word, and will turn some people off from watching this pretty informative film. Also, some amateur tainted it with annoying cliche anti-bush catch phrases written on the film which were obviously not on the original cut. Those parts remind me of the loony political nuts you see on public access TV.

In all honesty i'm not extremely political (do i follow politics closely? yes) and to add my 2 cents i think people lack the realization that there are some pretty messed up people out there who genuinely want to kill other people, corrupt governments(like sudan, somalia(although the situation there is....fragile), venezuela, cuba, Iran, north korea, etc. etc. etc.) I am of the school of thought that yes, these people living under this oppression need to be helped. If i remember correctly during the 1980's and 1990's Iraq would have been mentioned on the list of countries needing an intervention. Certainly there should have been intervention back then but for some reason i get the feeling that the countries people protest about needing help, if we were to go in there and help them war will certainly break out and we would once again be blamed for starting another "unjust" war etc. When it comes down to countries like the Sudan any of them really, telling them to stop hurting people has never worked, sending aid into that country doesnt prevent them from doing that and if anything just gives the government more money to continue hurting people, so what option is left? the UN would never do anything(and i would say they are currently to busy raping women and children in the congo and covering that up to care about other conflicts) Military action seems to be the only option to end these social injustices...what does that ential?? civilians would probably get killed in the process, it wouldn't be over night success, it would be messy, soldiers would die, it would take money to rebuild, it would require being in it for the long haul...
so either way i look at it weather its Iraq or the sudan in someway or another the US would have to commit troops if it was up to the US to solve the problem and we would be in a similiar situation (a difficult one at that) no matter where the conflict is.

Tafkaf is right. This is the BBC documentary "The Power of Nightmares", which aired in Britain in 2004. It needs not to be said that it was quite controversal at the time, as can be imagined, not everyone liked it...
Nonetheless, I personally found it great - as anything one sees on television one shouldn't just believe it as the whole truth and nothing but the truth, but it is definitely a must-see. And perhaps even a must-think.
Thanks for posting this. ;-)

Somehow you looked beyond my pirate to find some kind of seriousness in my statement. In truth I am a Conservative, that Neocon bit sounds to much like some Flash Gordon evil Empire.
Well they weren't just lobbyists, Wolfowitz was Deputy Secretary of Defense and Perle at one stage Chairman of the Defense Policy Board, they had real power. Who would you call "real" neo-cons?
To me they were more like opportunists that jumped the bandwagon because they were able to incorporate their interests within the neocon agenda.

I dont see any sarcasm here, you referred to your self as a true neocon who would laugh at this, and you laughed. What i see is some confused wannabe who is trying to find his ideology for patriotism's sake.

Intersting documentary, will watch rest later. First clip hits it right on the spot of how Soviet Union's threat was exaggerated for ideological purposes.

I always understood it that Perle at least was one of the founders of the "neo-con" movement, being one of the early members of PNAC and all that.

Either you didn't watch the documentary or you didn't get it. Didn't get it at all.
Excellent show.
The neoconservatives, their way of thinking, their policies, the starkly black and white, good vs. evil, overly simplistic fantasy land they seem to inhabit is largely why I no longer consider myself a Republican. At least not with them at the stearing wheel.

And as the documentary proves, the top neocons are mostly jews, Perle, Wolfowitz, Feith etc, hardcore jewish straussians. To be such a small population on this planet, jews do make alot of noise.
Can we agree on this or will I be suspended for infractions now?
