View Full Version : Day of silence

Today the homos in our school (Gay-Straight Alliance) had a "day of silence" they didnt say a word, to symbolise how homos need to be quiet about their activities.
Yeah, how korny.
EDITED for deragatory terms.

A lot of people here should consider "A month of silence".

It's nothing at all to do with being gay, I just think some of the rest of us would appreciate it if they shut up for four weeks.

Yeah, how korny.

Corny in what way? I can see their point, judging by the vernacular of your post and I can't say that I blame them for making a demonstration about it. People like you are why they feel they "need to be quiet about their activities."

Good. But if they want a demonstration they should do it outside of school, a public educational facility.
When a teacher calls on them and they stay silent, they should get a cut.

Because very few people around here would notice if I stopped posting, what with my huge post count of five hundred in well over a year.

What we need is someone who's racked up nearly 2000 in a couple of months.

The fun part here is: That you are still so young that you actually don't know what your ****** preference is. You can actually wake up tomorrow, and be gay.

What would you say about that, eh? And those who knows, says that the more you have a grudge against homo******ity, the greater chance it is for that you are homo****** your self. Your just in denial. rofl

What makes you so sure that there aren't any gays on the board? There are gays in every walk of life. Granted, if I were gay, I wouldn't "come out" on this board, but I would venture to say that there are people who post on this board who are gay.

It has happened and will happen. A few years ago, a gentleman in Bangor was beaten and thrown into the Kenduskeag Stream because he was gay. I don't remember if they found his body or not. The Penobscot River is a tough lady when it comes to searches.

Some people have serious issues with anyone who they perceive to be different from themselves. They are afraid because they don't understand the one who is "different", and they act on that fear.

The Gay Alliance at my school is doing the same thing.

Do I accept them? No. Do I like any of them? No. Do I think there is something wrong with them either biologically (unproven) or with the way they were brought up? Yeah.

Do I condone rounding them up and beating the crap out of them because of it? No.

Maine Finn while I appreciate your views on...'toleration', everyone is different. I am not going to be PC and tolerate them just like I don't tolerate faminazis. People believe that certain people should behave in certain ways. Gays should not make their ******ity something to be attacked or tout it as a means of defiance against the status quo. They don't have to "come out" at all. They can- and SHOULD- keep their private life private. I too probably have good friends who are gay and that's fine....but I don't know that which is the key difference. If they bring it up and make their *** life their soap-box, I disapprove of them for that.

I've done some really sad work involving protection of homo******, bi******, and transgender children. Those kids shouldn't need bodyguards just to go to school, but some do. I don't care what one's opinion is, how can people justify making such threats to innocent children? Those are some very sad jobs to work.

It's the same as with Ms. Brown in 1954. Why should a little girl need federal marshals just so that she can attend a decent school? Why should military troops be called out to escort nine teenagers to go to a school in Arkansas? Why should the aforementioned students of today recieve threats so menacing that they require protective details? And trust me, those children were making an extremely diligent effort to maintain a low profile.

Granted, not everyone is so violent, and I can't change anyone's opinions, but I would ask that people not become threats. In my own experience, I know of dozens, probably hundreds of instances in which PMC and Law Enforcement personnel who otherwise would have been performing antiterrorism duties had to be pulled off those duties to provide security for homo******, etc. children. Want to do something to help fight terrorism? Don't make threatening comments about gays, Jews, etc. The police don't need anything distracting them from their other duties, and those threats do take up a lot of people who otherwise would be working to protect against terrorism.

Let's just treat everyone equally, ok? I can't support depriving a group of people any rights that another group has based solely on their membership of said group. Neither can the US Constitution, according to its full faith and credit clause.

Have a good one all, and just some thoughts...
