Req: WW2 NZ army insignia identification

This belonged to my grand father who served in the New Zealand army during WW2 at el alamein in Egypt & he recently passed away and my father gave this to me, but he wasn’t sure of its identification…I did a quick search on google and NZ veteran affairs site but I didn’t have much luck if any one could help me identify it I would greatly appreciate it..cheers

It looks like the badge of the british 8th Army in the battle of El-Alamein

I Would say that Valtrex is right as the New Zealanders did fight mainly with the British 8th Army though out Africa.
