Any recommendations apart from the standard tourist-tour? Ive seen most of the tourist-shiznit, but my lady hasn't, ergo i gotta do it all over again.

Oh, and shooting ranges pricings, what kind of sums are we talking about?

Hehe, thats awfully kind of you all, but my trip wont be for at least two, more likely three years.
Problem is its such a big country, lots to see, expensive trip and lodging, little time to do it in... One really has to prioritize.

Last time I was in the US was some 16 years ago, I was 7 years old. Disneyland, Universal studios and so forth. Only problem is that at 7 years of age one really only cares about stuff that attracts a 7-year old. Such as "when do we stop to pee", "can I have another Coke", and "But I wanna live at Disneyland! I dont wanna go home!"

My father and little brother were in NYC last summer, flew over to check out some guitarstuff of some sorts. Guess where I was? You guessed it, in the hospital, working my ass off. :bash:

Mmm yes, the food is great :) Especially pastéis de natas (remember to try those some time in your life! ;) ). Portuguese and Spanish are similar in many ways, yes (being Romance languages), but they are also very different, especially the way they sound. Portuguese also has many nasal sounds, like São (sounds like sown) and irmã (eer-mahn). Portuguese is more difficult, mainly because Spanish is so phonetic; Portuguese can be pretty tricky. I've seen a couple Brazilians/Portuguese on the board, I'm sure they can explain it to you better than I have (I'm still a beginner :| ) hope that helped a little :)

I'd say NZ is better than average in that respect.....definitely the same with OZ as well.....I've traveled a lot and I don't think any single place can lay claim to "The Best" in that category.....you most certainly would NOT be disappointed.

One thing I DO know for sure is:

Just like an Aussie or Kiwi accent will get you laid quite easily in the States

Same goes for a US accent way down here.......the women really dig it as long as you're laid back

Mate if you reckon XXXX is good beer, then I have serious doubts about your claims of NZ having better beer than Australia. :D Agree on Brizzy having good looking shielas but.

I like Crown...especially in the middle of a typical drought filled Aussie summer...I'm not gonna try knocking back Guinness and Kilkennys when it's 35+ outside.

I'm on my way to Sydney in two weeks to enjoy the wonderful traffic there for 3 days

Any suggestions on something else I should try?

Norway, one of the richest countries in the world, (high standard in everything
that is), and nature is just stunningly beautiful. In summertime, paradise on
earth. Although I would choose something else during winter.

Fjord

Aah, the great west. With nice weather even. Incredible!

Seriously, getting somewhat bored with the place. Too expensive and cold (for the most). Got hooked on Melanesia, and the Solomons is definately a place i could see myself living a very laidback life at... Ah, palms and hot water! And also a Solbrew in the evening breeze. Can't get any better!

Another place where I would like to live is Iceland. Cold but the women and the hot springs make up for that. ;)

I'd live in a cardboard box as long as I had that view every morning.

West Japan is great. Kobe for the fun and girls, Osaka to make money and Kyoto to indulge in the finer things of life.
