I was out shopping a few days ago and the guards at one of the Jewlery shops were changing shifts. This weapon looked like the the offspring of an M-16 and an AK. Anyone know what it is?

AK Receiver, G3 Stock (?), M16 Barrel/handguards, looks to be chambered for 7.62mm judging by the mag.
i never seen it before.

maybe he knows one hell of a gunsmith?

One they are good but very rarely this good. Either it works great or never been tested.

Yep have seen my share of confused weapons here. Once I saw a modded out M-16 that was belt fet and the barrel could not have been more than 3-4 inches.
