A radical Muslim cleric has urged hundreds of supporters meeting in Sydney's south-west to join a global push to create an Islamic utopia.
Indonesian firebrand cleric Ismail Yusanto outlined his plan for instituting Sharia law, the absolute form of Islam, to a crowd of about 500 people gathered at the Khilafah Conference in Lakemba.
The meeting was organised by the Australian arm of the extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir, a group widely known for its anti-democratic, anti-Semitic views.

The group believes that it can reduce suffering around the globe by introducing Sharia law and creating an Islamic utopia.

http://ads.ninemsn.com.au/ads/rich/common/ad21.gifhttp://ninemsn.com.au/9msnshared/images/space.gifThe NSW government has called on the Commonwealth to follow several European and Middle Eastern countries and ban the group.
Dr Yusanto called on followers to denounce capitalism, warning that if Islam was not followed in his Islamic super-state, jihad would follow.
From the nationalisation of utilities for the on-going funding of a jihadist army to fighting off an ensuing American-led invasion, he told the audience never to let pessimism enter their minds when seeking a utopian state of Islam not seen since 1924.
"Once the program is ready it must be implemented as soon as possible," Dr Yusanto said.
"Once successful, the new order would be just the beginning of the new era in the application of Islamic ideology.
The cleric went on to remind his listeners of the ultimate sacrifice in achieving a utopian Islamic state.
"There is no victory and glory without sacrifice and hard work," he said.
"No pain no gain."
Hizb ut-Tahrir is already banned in several European and Middle Eastern countries.
It has also been linked to the 2005 London bombings.
NSW Premier Morris Iemma called on federal Attorney-General Philip Ruddock to join countries including Britain and Germany and ban the group.
"This is not a case of someone being different, someone advocating a different point of view," he told Sky News.
"This is an organisation that is basically saying that it wants to declare war on Australia, our values and our people. That's the big difference.
"And that's why I believe that they are just beyond the pale, enough is enough and it's time for the Commonwealth to review this organisation's status and take the lead from other countries and ban them."
But federal Attorney-General Philip Ruddock said government agencies were monitoring Hizb ut-Tahrir, although its activities in Australia did not warrant it being banned.
"Proscription of terrorist organisations is an issue that is dealt with by the Commonwealth after a referral of powers from the states," Mr Ruddock said.
Opposition immigration spokesman Tony Burke called on newly appointed Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews to consider cancelling Dr Yusanto's visa.
"There are clear character provisions in the immigration act that mean that if the government didn't want Ismail Yusanto here it could have stopped him from coming," he told reporters.
"The only reason we have someone in western Sydney right now preaching Sharia law is because the federal government chose to allow him to be here.
"My question and my comment to anyone from around the world who hates Australia is simple - if you hate the place, don't come here."

I saw the news report here at 5pm. Channel 10 was refused permission to interview any of the speakers...so much for Tahirs transparency. However it looked like someone recorded the speechs as sound-bites were broadc ast that called for Australian muslims to attend military training to prepare for jihad. Time to cancel some visas and build internment facilities.

A reservation would be more desirable.

Its sad to see our Australian brothers having to deal with such radical elements. I hope those radicals are deported to their countries of origin soon. There is no doubt that their home countries would not be so tolerant of their views and would torture them for saying them.

Isn't it odd how they "call for Islamic Utopia?" I thought the current crop
of Islamic countries were each, in their own right, Utopias. So, let's get
this straight... These clerics can't manage to create Utopia in a solitary
country but could do it if it were a global ideal.

If Lakemba is anything to judge by, I'll stick with what we've got.
Why are these geese always from Australia?
It can't be the grog.

If only it was that easy..... In many cases these "radicals" are Australian citizens and IIRC it is very difficult to revoke citizenship.

Not be tolerant of their views?, I would have thought otherwise.

I wonder when the majority of Australia's are going to wake up to this ?? These people are not about conforming to our way of life.

Its a sad day in paradise when we judge the character of a person by how much money they have in order to gain citizenship........ rather than their belief's or how Australia would benifit by having them here.

Its really hard to turn the other cheek, I am sorry to say.

This sort of thing does give a lot of Aussies the sh*ts,,especially me.

Nothing more I (and dare I say a lot of others) would like to do than to boot thse bugges on a boat and "send them back to wherever in the hell is was from where they came from (to borrow a line from "The Honeymoon is Over")

But,, we cant do this because we are decent law abiding citizens,, and as such we follow the laws of the land.

So what to do,,, well next time you get to vote at an election (state or federal) find out who the wally was that let this slime into our land,, and vote for the chap opposing him (or her).

Totally agree & the wally who let them in was bloody paul keating, he let all the dodgy lebo's & other misfits in from the middle east, ASIO & the like told him dont let them in so he did just like he let in our old mate sheik Al you have just miss understood me. Did the europeans after WW2 give us grief no just the middle east misfits. when are we going to learn.

yep in an election is your only way unfortunately to make the powers that be listen on either side of the political spectrum.

I'll 3rd that. Especially the migrants (immigrants? I can never remember which is which) during / post WW2 - now THEY were a grateful lot which *added* so much to our country; unlike the current mob of yocals creating all this ruckus, who are grateful for what and add to Australia as a place to be how exactly?

Looks like grateful for a government that's allowing them to lose perspective on where they are exactly, by allowing individuals like Sheik al You Have Misunderstood Me (nice one bushranger, I'm going to use that one ;) ) to encourage the blind many (hopefully, the blind few) and lose perspective on the opportunities they have here.

Unless it starts with the senior community of Muslims in the country, the youth certainly aren't going to follow - and we've all seen in recent history troubles that have been caused.

My patience with these retards has officialy run out. I'd love to see the look on their faces if we just rounded them up into boats, said "if you don't like it, **** off" and dumped them on a deserted island with orders to make their Islamic utopia there.

Thanks Astro, no copy write on that. I think we have all had enough im fed up with picking up the paper & reading some crap about some dumb muso........AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.!!!!!!!!

All we need is a politician with the balls to say hey, this is Australia these are the rules, we have our own customs & values & thats that, if you dont like it pack your bags & F off. Im sure we can ask each Aussie for $1 we can hire a few antinovs & just herd them on & say thanks for coming but no thanks. You can tell ive had enough.

Has this organization taken any terrorist action?
I mean different organizations are declaring stuff like this every day: neonazis, anarchists, commies, fundamentalists etc. A group of a few hundred (or even thousand) of people have a snowballs chance in hell to turn their fantasies into reality. As long as it's nonviolent I'd let people dream whatever they want.

This might be over the line but I rather see humanity end then to see a islamic utophia.

So because a couple of wankers agree with what this ****head thinks, we should ship everyone of middle eastern descent back to where they came from?
Most of them were born here.Thousands of Aussies of Middle Easten descent serve in the ADF,Police, Government (one of them is our current Attorney General) and help their respective communities.
Many Lebanese Australian's ancestors came out here over 100 years ago.
They have just as much right to live here as we do.

I, for one, was talking about the ones who do agree in particular.
