View Full Version : Ban Helex
Please ban Helex,he has done something truly dis-tasteful and deserves to be kicked off this board. Please Hood i would highly recomend banning Helex from this board for ever.He has crossed a threshold and should be punished. If you do not take any punitive action against Helex,it would be akin to an open house for all sorts of people with an axe to grin with the United States. We might as well call this place www.troll.net. Hood i endear you to take to heart my entreaties,a lot of us have been loyal memebers of this board,we never flame,we argue in a civil manner. It is high time that you put your foot down and take back control from trolls and flamers.Starting with Helex. And to those who will say freedom of speech,i will say this,It is a priviledge to post on a privately owned website not a God given right.

I would argue against banning him on the grounds that as everyone else on this site, he has a freedom of expressing himself and should not be banned on the basis of making baad jokes or starting discussions. I have read some of his posts and to me it seems that he is being hounded just for the sake of finding someone to vent agression into. I do no think that you should ban someone just because he annoys others, sometimes it can be a helthy remainder of the fact that not everything is to be taken seriously.
P.S. Using of bad language and repeated spelling mistakes are hardly something that makes the ban more likely.

Freedom of speech also goes hand in hand with democracy. He pisses enough people and he will get ban by the majority.

Id agree with you rokus, except HELEX does not post intelligent, well thought out arguments. He goes from thread to thread flaming, there's a difference.
Benibo, I understand why you are upset with Helex. We all are. I believe that was his intent. To someone like Helex, being formally banned would be a badge of honor because it would acknowledge his many attempts to distract members from worthwhile threads to focus on his flame bait.
This month it's Helex, last month it was Sixgun, there will always be attention whores attracted to this web site of every political persuasion.
Although I wouldn't vote against banning Helex, I think a better example would be "banning" as Native Americans and early American colonialists practiced. They would just ignore you. Let him post his outrageous pro-insurgent, anti-American rants and disinformation. We live in the most media-saturated society in the world and have the most media-savvy populace in the world, so how can anyone take Helex's views seriously?
I'm sure militaryphotos.net isn't the only forum he trolls. This is what he does. It's is life. Let him have his fun because it don't mean nothing, it don't mean a thing ;)
I'm one of those leftie 'Euro-wussies' but this is a banning I certainly wouldn't oppose.

HELEX should of been banned long before. I mean...just look at two of his recent posts...
It's a disrespect to the fallen to print these photos.
No, to keep them secret is.
Very strange -- not sure how I feel about this.
Bad...... for example? Since Bush was elected I always had a bad feeling about anything US related(And in my opinion Reagan was a good Pres.).
Does anyone know his age because he seems like an immature 20-year old with the character of a 3-year old.
I am all for having people w/ different opinions here on the board but HELEX takes it too far.

It is my understanding the official U.S. policy against publishing lots of these photos is out of respect for the families. It has nothing to do with hiding the truth of the body count in order to avoid adverse reaction to the war.
I think that argument is disengenuous. We see no faces, just caskets. The families have made the greatest sacrifice. Photos of caskets are just photos.
People should see them so they ask HELIX's question "Why?" If the U.S. has a satisfactory answer to that question then I reckon it has nothing to fear, now does it?
People post pictures of the dead for all kinds of reasons, political, strategic and tactical. Remember Whosay and Koosay (don't know how to spell it)?
Not supposed to flaunt the POWs but we did it with Saddam.
Anyway, the most heart-wrenching photo I've seen to date is that picture from the beginning of the war of the young Marine holding his son (about 4 or 5 years old). That Marine died in combat.
The thing that got me most was not the Marine. I was one. I know what I was/am, and I strongly suspect I know what that Marine was. I know what most Marines are.
What got me was that poor boy. The way he was hugging his daddy; you could just tell how much he loved him. Who ever had to tell that kid deserves a medal.
**** like that used to roll off my back. Now I have a son that age. It bothered the hell out of me. We better have a good f*****g reason "why" but I sure ain't seen one yet.
Then I think of all the little Iraqi boys.
This is militaryphotos.net. Those caskets were military and those were photos. They were not blood and guts graphic. Stop with your rightous indignation already.
Helex, do you have a wife or girlfriend? Or do you live with your parents? What time is it where you live? After midnight? The reason I'm asking is because you are posting here 24/7. As much as I like militaryphotos.net, I find your 20 posts a frigging day amazing. Don't you ever take a break to go outside, be with friends or simply screw something, anything? Or is this the one place where you can get the attention you know you deserve?
OK, I got that off my chest, I will now go back into my "Ignore Helex" mode :P

Had I been at the funeral, and had he been my friend, I'd not be mocking, nor am I mocking in any event. But neither would I be wearing it on my sleeve on the world wide web. In fact, were he my friend, I'd probebly find the person who did so, poke a hole in the back of his skull and f**k his brains out. On the other hand, I've lost so many, I'd probably just chock it up to your youthful rightousness. But hey, that's just me.

Foxtrot023:
I'm chagrined. I went way out of my way to try and be nice and non-inflammatory in my original post (granted, things went down hill after that). What was so "worst manners" about it? Surely my points can't be faulted just because I agreed with Helix, a body who doesn't seem to welcome in these parts? Pray tell, how could I have more genteel in my presentation whilst maintaining the position?
BURP! Oops, excuse me! Good vittles.

Mucus, just PM TriggerPuller with your info, and all will be good. Either do that or apologize for masquerading as something you are not. Its OK; an apology or proof is not that hard, is it?

I don't know trigger puller from a hole in the ground. Some folks don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone. I know where I been and what I done and I'll share it at my convenience or as it might fit in to a piece.
Now, I can get banned for speaking my mind, or for not passing some tin-horn dictator's muster, or you all can just chalk me up as another pussy. Makes no never mind to me. I'm still feeling my way around this outfit (like a bull in a china shop?) but I won't be cow towing to anyone just 'cause they got a piece o' the plank.

That's fine. But it just makes it harder for the rest of us to believe you when you say things, because we don't know if you've got the experience to back it up.
I'm not a BTDT, but I'm working on it. I'm not afraid or unwilling to share what I have and haven't done, because doing so allows others to know what level of credibility I have.
Just a thought, mate.

I actually thought that Helex at first was just getting picked on, I've read every single post on this topic and saw what how Helex posted the topic on heros. I think has his right to say what he wants in the under free speech, however, the post about heros was totally distastefull and I do feel that he should make and apology to the families of the soldiers and to those he has hurt in this matter, in those terms he should be able to stay. He has answered some of my questions and been very helpfull.

Not worth banning...at least not yet. It was kinda nice when he used the pictures of the dead American solders/shuttle crew to call attention to himself. Classy stuff. By my math, he's averaged about 19 posts per day (figuring that he's not here on the weekends) - I just don't know where he finds the time.

I find it amusing that rather then discuss real issues people have generated a whole topic to a person who posts on this website. I dont think that banning Helex is the right thig to do at all. There are alot of people saying"helex hijacks topics". I have been paying attention recently and quite often that is not the truth. Hel;ex merely states his opinion and all of a sudden everyone jumps on him for have a different opinion, and all of a sudden the topic has changed to a "ban Helex"Topic. Give it a rest. if you dont agree with him, then that is your god given right, as much as it is his to not agree with you. If what he says makes you cry, then dont read what he writes. I for one will continue to read what he writes in the hopes that i will be able to acguire a multifaceted view of many topics. Heres my words of wisdom for all envolved, grow up.

It seems to me that this is a classic instance of the majority is trying to rub out someone who is disliked because he/she has brought up a sensitive issue or issues that have made many peole think, well its e nlightened me a bit and has even made me wonder what to do about it I certainly do not want to disresect the dead ANY DEAD, and if that was the case with the Heros thread as a way just to disrespect then I will jump on the bandwagon and boo helex, I just got more out of that thread than what if first seemed to portray. The question that came to my head was why should we hide these picture as if they are secret and something that we should keep in the closet I myself and this may just be my opinion would want the country that I fight die for to be able to see the ultimate price that myself and my companions would be willing to make. Its a tough subject but right now I am on Helex's side for bringing up the issue, you have to look through the crap to see good meaning but I do think its there, damn I wrote a book about this and now I feel like a loser gonna go slap myself

is Militaryphotos.net an american based website?
If it is a US website than helix does have the right to say what he wants as long as he does so in a respectfull manner. But he does not have the right to post things saying they are factual and unbias when in reality they are not. he must list his sources if he wants his information to be displayed as factual news instead of an opinion.

There are facts, and there are opinions. They are not always the same. People who deliberately represent opinions as facts are called liars. Their opinions therefore are worthless. I do not subscribe to the notion that every opinion needs to be respected.
That being said, unless HELEX breaks rules (such as duplicate names etc.) he shouldn't be banned. This place wouldn't be worth visiting if we all agreed on everything.
The problem is that some people deliberately hijack threads, are disrespectful of others, and incite massive flame wars - which I'm sure is not Hood's intended use for this site. After a while it becomes very tiresome.
As an example of this technique, I'll offer the following, which is worthy of the worst offenders here;
The holocaust never happened
America's moon landing was faked
Americans are too fat
Russians are barbarous thugs
the entire premise for the Iraq war was deliberate lie
All people in the world who are not wealthy and prosperous are that way because America has oppressed them....etc etc (oh crap I left out saying something about gays...)

Well i agree with you on all but two of these. Number one, it is a scientific fact that per capita Americans are more obese then anyone else in the world. And number two, we are all still waiting proof that the iraq thing wasnt a big lie. I'm still waiting for those WMD. But, i dont want to "hijack" this converstion, so please dont think im trying to debate the validity of certain military actions. I'm merely using that comment as a defense against what you consider to be ban-able offences.

You should have read what your pinky liberal, anti-American troll friends (mustamato and pinkeye) have something to say about Jews and white people in Utah. At least Sixgun is a bigot in private message while musturbator and pinkeye are bigots on public board.
I see how it is, if someone is anti-American then it's OK because we deserve it, plus we are fat. If someone is anti-Euro then it is not OK because you all too perfect and the master race.
