im interested in the pouch lay out of their webgear. is it the same as the ephod ? how does the saw/m249 gunner carry ammo ? is there a sop on the load-out of this webbing?

Yes it's ephod, they used it since mid nineties, but recently they switched to a new model:

M203 under AR or SC are quite common, san marco, Folgore, Alpini, Bersaglieri and also Carabinieri MSU uses it
