Thousands of residents of Manenberg took to the streets Wednesday to protest against the large number of drug dealers in their communities with whom they share close quarters. They made particular reference to the psychosisinducing narcotic drug Tik, which has been responsible for drug wars and hundreds of related deaths in Manenberg on the Cape Flats. The ephedrine based drug Tik has had a devastating impact on the Western Cape communities and is becoming more prevalent in drug related crimes in the province which has seen an increase of 159% over the past five years. Research from the alcohol and drug research group of the Medical Research Council showed the biggest drug problem was from Tik, as well as the increasing use of heroin on the Cape Flats. Children between the ages of 13 and 18 are the biggest drug users, especially regarding Tik. EPA/NIC BOTHMA

Youd be suprised how hard it is to put out a fire completely. Even with your typical one to two story structure fires its standard procedure to keep guys on the scene over night to be sure it dosent flare up again. Cuz no matter how much water you use you can never get everything, there will always be spots still smoldering even days after the actual fire started. Allot of times if a fire is just too big and out of control we just let it burn itself out and all we can do is make sure it dosent spread.

I have never had to deal with a fire on a boat, but I could imagine with all the nooks and crannys thats things gonna be smoldering for a real long time.

It looks to me like their just trying to make sure it dosent flare up again, thats why its still smoldering. No sense sending anybody in there to try to totally put it out, would be way too dangerous.
