Wow, they have a Saladin too. I used to have a model of one as a kid.

BTW, there were over 90'000 of these at the battle of Kursk.

Hahahahahaha... and they're also exactly the same as the KV-85. Its all a part of a great conspiracy by world renown military historians to dupe the real historians.

Maybe 9,000 is what you mean? And that's both Soviet and German tanks. Total production of T-34s came close to 90,000.

"Estimates for total output of T-34 tanks are as high as 84,070, plus 13,170 self-propelled guns built on the T-34's chassis." (Zaloga & Grandsen 1996:18).
Zaloga, Steven J., Jim Kinnear (1996). T-34-85 Medium Tank 1944–94, Oxford: Osprey Publishing. ISBN 1-85532-535-7.

Supposedly the next largest armored battle was on 14 Oct. 1973 when the Israelis repulsed the Egyptians, destroying or damaging 250 tanks at an IDF cost of 40.

And they were T-34/85s at Kursk. Don't let the Nazi-sympathizers tell you otherwise.

I read it once in a book.

Well maybe 100'000 tops, lets not exaggerate. OK? Let's stick to the facts.

There may have been 10'000'000 in total production but most of those were converted into farm tractors, swimming pool filter pumps and arcade games
shortly before the fall of the Zar 'Ivan the Terrible'.

And of course the use of them by the odd bear hunter or two.

Google is your friend.

I can't see the Buffel :-( - it must be hidden behind one of those red X's... and people thought South Africa never had stealth technology.

Oh, I'm pretty sure there were other WW2 battles in the 2 years after Kursk which involved more tanks, therefore it was hardly the second largest. Operation Bagration is one example.

I'm going by what the different history sites and books seem to say, though many just say "largest tank battles since WWII," so you may be correct. Bagration is an entire operation as opposed to a single set battle (Soviets had 4000+ tanks to the Germans 500-600.)

I even get a red X in the section you quoted. :-(

For some reason there are three of the pics that just won't load on my PC.
