Nice find. Looks like a paper dart. Recovery seems expensive.

not sure i got u, u said getting the the UAV back to the submarine is hard?
it can be very simple.

It can be very simple if you have a wad of money and know-how. From the presentation you need a mini sub to tether it to the main sub, not cheap. The UAV also needs to close its intake and exhaust on touch down unless the engine is a throw-away unit. Easy with cheap ‘n easy expendable protection on launch but it gets heavy if you have to lug it around. But that's technology....maybe they'll work it out.

closing intake and exhaust is very simple as u can imagine
after landing in water it should open it's propelor-engine and swim it's way to the buttom area of the sub.
it's not that hard

Funny you posted this today. My friend who owns a metal fab shop were talking about building our own UAV.

What's expensive about using an USV for connecting the UAV with the onboard recovery winch?
It's a quite complicated procedure, which takes time and requires calm seas, as noted, but it's not at all expensive.
