Just guessing here, didn't knew it either but I think I know now: Bump firing is something that you have to wear a big belly, tourist trousers, white socks and running shoes for. Don't forget to take your sunglasses for maximum effect.
Joking, I guess it means that you fire the rifle from your hips according to the movies.
BTW, no problems with audio/video here.

But how does the semi auto rifle fire full auto?

But how does the semi auto rifle fire full auto?
According to my knowledge you can turn a semi-auto rifle very easy in an full-auto rifle. I know for sure it's possible with the FN FAL. It's just a case of taking the right part out of the weapon which will stop the rifle after 3 shots (the semi-auto function).

You pass your thumb through your belt-loop at your waist and connect it with your trigger finger. The recoil of the weapon discharges successive rounds. It works, but not well with the aim ...

Seems better to modify the weapon just the way u can do with the FN FAL. Probably not possible with every weapon.

Nor is that very legal.

It's all legal, fellas. No modifications. The impulse of the trigger resetting makes it appear to fire full auto.

And why not if I may ask?

With proper practice bump firing is easy from the shoulder, well aimed too.
Bump firing is a method of holding the rifle with your trigger hand partially rigid and using the offhand to apply a slight forward force on the rifle. The recoli "bumps" the rifle off your semi rigid trigger hand and actuates the trigger again. Most people use the belt loop but this can be dangerous since hip-firing is potentially dangerous due to lackof aim.
Bump firing is a simple way to experience what automatic fire is like and can be used to empty an AK 30 round mag in seconds if you just need a rush of adrenaline.
In the US, full auto is legal in most states provided you pay a $200 tax for the transfer of the weapon and pass a simple background check. The problem is that since 1986 no new fully automatic weapons can be made for transfer. This jacked the price up on legally transferable weapons. For example, an M-16A2 will run you $7000-11000 depending on condition, compared to a new semi-auto AR-15 at $700. An UZI rund $4000-5000 or more, and a Steyr AUG rund $13,000. All these are used rifles.
If you are a manufacturing dealer however, who has a Special Occupation Tax stamp (S.O.T.) you can make full auto weapons as dealer samples to seek to sell to law enforcement. These guys build all the neat stuff, since it is sample material they can't be sold to the public but these guys come out to shoot and share quite often. Of course there is little chance of a law enforcement agency buying an MG-34 or an M-2 .50 cal, but the dealers make them anyway just for fun. That's how many of us get to shoot a lot of interesting stuff.

Modifying a weapon built to be semi auto to fire full auto....
Now....it's meant to be semi auto....there are laws restricting full autos i'm sure....(where i come from semis are illegal...). All depends on your location, but doing those sort of things would end yourself up in prison here(well, owning an FAL in semi auto would get you flung in jail to start with...).

Here is me bumping the AKM
First portion is bumping off the shoulder, took me a while to learn.
The second magazine is just rapid fire.
When I was changing mags, this wasn't my record. I can do it under 3 seconds p-)
Lots of practice

Question answered, see above. Was thinking in a military way. We modified our FN FAL sometimes during exercises. Although we now have full auto rifle's (C7A1), I almost never use the full auto option. I prefer single-shot.
