I was on youtube once again, and I came across this interesting find about a major accident that had happened at Bien Hoa AB, Vietnam. There's plenty of VNAF Skyraider footage being moved away from the damage. Gotta love the suspense music-hope y'all like this one.

At that times Bien Hoa was mainly a SVNAF base. 2 years later it became the huge US ARMY / USAF compound. This incident is just an example that called for better protection of lined up aircraft, thus the creation of the modular blast walls later on.

Bien Hoa was leveled in the late 70's because it was useless for the new People's Army that retains Tan Son Nhut Airport as its main South base.

I have seen the place in the early 90's it was a huge abandonned field with not a single building left. Every bit of hardware was stolen by the locals for various use (and the Vietnamese are kings when it comes to recycling!).
