I don't think so. At least in near future, there won't be any English version.
But that website contains WEALTH of information, beginning from WWII to operations in Chechnya! ;)
Of course, that info is filtered, but still provides insight to our Ops, that you'll never find anywhere else! ;)

I never understood the purpose of "pwned" as opposed to "owned". Probably the same reason why I never understood people in my area putting "izzle" in at least 3 words in every sentence, especially after watching MTV.

"Pwned" started as an inside joke on a gaming forum and basically spread throughout the internet until it came to common usage on forums and whatnot.

It's an intentional typo. People wrote "owned" in CS etc so quickly, it commonly came out as "pwned". It's like "teh".

Had a chance to play op-for recently on an exercise, we were given German uniforms too. This was about a month ago.

what makes this unit famous??
The 5th Brigade was the elite among the elite of the Soviet Army. It's based in Mar'ina Gorka. There is a saying among us, "There is Mar'ina Gorka, and there is the rest" :)
The core of this brigade were NCO's and warrant officers, which had graduated from the various military academies (RVVDKU; KVOKU; AVVKU; Frunze Academy; etc.), with the strong knowledge of foreign languages. Later, the legendary officers Company was established. It consisted strictly of NCO's, and was prepared to carry out the most critical missions of the Soviet military intelligence, ready to operate in ALL geographical areas. Although, their main area of responsibility was the Western Europe.
5 OBr SpN was the first to test all new pieces of weaponry and gear of Soviet SF. Special procedure was set for them to offer required fixes and modifications.
They were the first ones to intensively employ hang-gliders in the operations. First parachute jump from a hang-glider was performed by the soldier of the 5th Brigade.
This was the only unit which was allowed to have its own patch, which was different from the rest of brigades.
As far as I remember there were 6 women. One of them had 2,500+ jumps on her record! ;)
Their training program included naval program (underwater warfare, demolitions). Interestengly, in 1981, during one of our excersises, soldiers of the 5 OBr SpN, beat the guys from Halulay (42 OBr SpN), and Stariy Krym (17 OBr SpN) in an attack against "enemy" submarine! Basically, the Army spetsnaz beat the Naval spetsnaz in their own "backyard". :)
Yuriy Sapalov was from this brigade, and later became its commander.
I was there once, when we went for jumps. We took off from Machulishi airport in Il-76, and landed not far from Izbishe.
Listing all their achievements will take a lot of time.
In other words, it is a LEGENDARY unit.

It does appear that way doesn't it?
Geez, can't you guys get over the guards uniform?

Because Soviet equipment is familiar, German is not... ie the bad guys wearing different colour hats.
