I would like this time to give you some informations about the China-Sudanese relationship,specially since the oil extraction operations began in 1996,and the exportation began in 1999..
I will post photos because it gives you a better idea...
Now,there are thousands of chinese in sudan,a lots of engineers in all fields.
workers,traders...
China has invested nearly US $15 billion in Sudan, China is the largest foreign investor in Sudan
Here is one example,and i will give others.
The merowe dam
The Merowe Dam on the Nile is the largest hydropower project currently under construction in Africa. Once completed in 2008/09, the dam’s reservoir will be 200 kilometers long.
The dam will produce some 1250 megawatts of electricity and eight transmission lines with a combined length of 1760 kilometers (1100 miles) will connect it to the national grid via a station in Merowe.
The $1.5 billion Merowe Dam, designed by Lahmeyer International of Germany and built by CCMD of China, is to produce 1,250 megawatts of electricity and provide water for the irrigation of the potentially very fertile Dongola reach of the Nile valley.
The Chinese CCMD joint venture, made up of the China International Water & Electric Corporation and Sinohydro Corporation (formerly China National Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Corp.), has beaten world-renowned construction contractors to win the bid.
Arab financial institutions, including the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the Saudi Fund for Development, and The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, are providing 700 million dollars in project financing. More than 300 million dollars is coming from The Export-Import Bank of China, which is backed by several Western commercial banks. Sudan’s government is covering the remaining 500 million dollars.
The dam will also boost electricity production to the double (there are other thermal power which are also beeing built,a big one is beeing built by an indian compagny at cost of 350 millions to give 300 MW of electricity
He will be the 10 biggest dam in the world

But that was against their own people. Besides, for something to be classified as "genocide" people murdered have to be selected due to their ethnical background.
China never had something like this. Japan did.

The New Corporate Headquarters for GNPOC in Khartoum, Sudan is a Landmark Tower, designed to be a corporate symbol for the Client, and a major addition to the Khartoum skyline.
Strategically positioned at the confluence of the White & Blue Nile Rivers, the elegantly tapering silhouette of the Tower, and clean lines of the curtainwall skin, inspire a dynamic and futuristic image, evocative of GNPOC’s own corporate vision.
Set on approximately 10,000m2 of Land within the Al Mogren area, the 18-Level Office Tower, with a Net Office space of some 14,000m2, features 3 equal-sided curvilinear facades, and houses the GNPOC operations in striking, modern interiors. Due to the geometry of the Tower structure, all interiors receive both generous views of the Nile River, and a high level of natural daylighting.

The Nile Morgan Complex- Khartoum, The Sudan

Name: The Nile Morgan Complex
Location: Morgan District, Khartoum, Sudan
Floors: N/A
Use: Hotel, Mixed Use
Colliers International has recently been appointed as development consultant and leasing agent on a prestigious project - the first of its kind - in the Mogran district of Khartoum, Sudan.
This proposed development is situated at the point where the White & Blue Nile Rivers meet and is to be known as "The Nile Mogran Project".آ It will consist of a 300-room international five-star hotel, 40,000 sqm (430,400 sqft) shopping mall, 154 residential apartments and a 20,000 sqm (215,200 sqft) office tower.
To date, Colliers has concluded the feasibility and market study segment of this appointment and is now actively seeking international and regional retailers to move into Sudan.آ Colliers’ next step is to secure an international supermarket/hypermarket chain to anchor the retail portion of the project, in order to meet the growing demands of Khartoum’s six million residents.آ Traditionally Khartoum and Sudanese retailers have only operated from very basic retail facilities measuring between 30 and 300 sqm (323-3,228 sqft) in size.

New Bridge in Khartoum
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/2807/tuti01ya8.th.jpg (http://img223.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tuti01ya8.jpg)
Tuti Bridge will provide the first road to it, as well as forming a component of the strategic road network planned for the city.The bridge will cross the Blue Nile at a point where it is around 200m wide. The river is fast flowing with large seasonal variations in level, and construction within it can be hazardous. In keeping with its location on a prime site in the centre of the city, the Sudan Government want the crossing to be a signature bridge. Tuti Bridge will therefore be an elegant, modern suspension bridge with a main span of 210 metres, which both provides the desired signature structure and avoids construction within the river.
Khartoum's first mall (recently opened)
The mall opened in 2004 and was constructed by a turkish company. the mall includes a movie theatre, bowling alley, and game room, plus the stores. i think this is a good step for khartoum wich is booming after the peace treaty was signed last year. there is a lot of new hotels and buildings going up right now, and i expect a few more malls.

The major heavy industry complex in Sudan is located 40 km south,
of the capital khartoum.
More than five thousand people works at GIAD heavy industires complex.
This complex produces: electrical cables and wires(45 000 tons/year))
->all sort of pipes(70 000 ton/year)
->steel(60.000 ton/year)
->bar-mill(150 000 ton/year)
->Tractor(1500 units)
->Medium and heavy trucks(few thousand)
->Some weapons(from what i remember there are other factories in khartoum region)
And,it produces a relatively high numbers of cars(at least 20 000 thousand cars and buses)
It must be noted that the engine and few other component are imported,so it's not totaly locally produced.
I think the must important thing is that it's totally owned by sudanese,the management,engineers,wokers are all sudanese.

So how does china differ from other countries that support their versions...

Last year,GDP growth was at 12%.
Inflation was at nearly 10%.
Its good to remember that 10 years ago,inflation were at 300% and there was shortage of meat,milk,bread,sugar and of course,shortage of fuel.
So the oil has dramatically change everything,and without a doubt,without the chinese participation,the oil would have never been a reality
There are a lots of chinese,indian,malasyian compagny willing to invest,oil is now a security for the investors.
