Yes. Pull straight out then twist. It snaps into position.

I carried the canadian version, the c-9 for a year and loved firing the thing!!! But man did i hate cleaning it up! They have optical sights on the c-9 but i could never figure out why, as it was vertually impossible to use while the gun was cracking away.

I got to play with one a little at an FTX last weekend. I was amazed at how easy it was to change out the barrel. Very helpful. Uncle Sam, in your experience, how many round did you get out of each barrel before you had to swap?

only downside to the c-9 is feeding it with a 30 round mag. Man oh man is that a pain in the ass. Things actually eat magazines!!

Man, SAW's are fun to shoot.

I also carried one for a bit. Nice little thing. They are getting a bit worn-out though. I'd like to see the Army adopt some HK MG43'S (MG4 German Bundeswehr designation.). They are quite similar in size and appearance to the FN Minimi, so they may be compliant with some of our existing systems.

That or the CEMTE Ameli! Love that gun! Can be taken down and put in a briefcase!

i wasnt a huge fan of the SAW, seemed like it was unnecessarily bulky, also seemed to require quite a bit of CLP to keep it rockin to. we only got to use this one so hopefully its different with the newer models...http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/3664/gas2.JPG

as was noted above, there is a PARA version with retractable stock. You can see how the non-para saw is inappropriate for CQB. now they have everything added, even an RIS for foregrip.
