whats ROC stand for again?

Republic of China, a.k.a. Taiwan, as distinct from PRC, People's Republic of China, a.k.a. Chicom or Red China.

If this makes you think there are two China's, like 2 Germany's or 2 Korea's, there's not. According to the UN, US, EU, and just about every country in the world, there's only 1 China, the People's Republic of China.

Clear? :)

No, it means that Taiwan isnt anything...... everybody have always had this "one China" policy, but for long "USA:s China was Taiwan"....... IE their and Taiwanese plans included "taking back the mainland"....... but then USA whiched Chinas, and took the mainland as "its".... and favored mainland over Taiwan, until the 1989 "massacre"........

De facto independent, but one that's not recognized by most other countries. If you ever want to visit RoC (Taiwan), make sure you don't go to the Chinese embassy. You've got to go to Taiwan's representative office in you country. Most likely the office would be called some kind of cultural/economic affairs office for Taiwan.

Taiwan is part of china I agreed but to say ROC is part of PRC is nothing but a lie.

Vintendo

Ok lets clear this up a bit.
The Republic of China is the name of the old China. After the civil war, the Communists took over the mainland and renamed it the People's Republic of China. Chien Kai Shek fled to Taiwan, so Taiwan is the only remaining part of the ROC and kept its name. So for a while there were 2 Chinas. Obviously the world eventualy decided to recognize PRC as the only China.

Now Taiwan is more independent than ever because Chien Kai Shek's KMD party is no longer ruling Taiwan.

I know some officers and sergents from the C.M.C,S.S.C(Chinese Marine Corps Special Service Company)
The gaer they are using now are issued or they just buy those themselves.
For example, the tactical vests or holsters they use are bought from Taiwan domestic company mostly, some are bought from foreign company like Eagle, LBT or so on.....Of course these well-known companies have the local agents...
Members from military can obtain what they want through the agnets(usually in special forces.......)

I heard that some of these LBV and Molle vest are made by "戰英" AKA PM Concept. Have you heard of these?

In my point of view, ROC Army has the best formal uniform out of all asian army, :D and I love them for stressing the importance of " Royalty, bravery , Elite, and hornor" . Sadly, some of the people in the management level are still corrupted. :| , and the harsh political environment are focing us to buy foreign military hardware at an unresonable price. IDF might not be a great success, but it has provided us a very good foundation and experience on building our whole gears, it is a pity that the research department has since stopped any further continuous study. Sigh!

I thought the CMC SSC was disbanded. IIRC, I thought that it was combined with the Amphibious Reconnaissance and Patrol Unit into the new Amphibious Reconnaissance Group (ARG) as the 2nd Special Tasks Squadron. I could be wrong though.

Does it means mean all tri-services (army , navy, airfore) have their own 政戰連, and what exactly does 政戰連 does? anti-commie?

Special Task Force(S.T.F)=政戰特遣隊, had been once the most agressive and offensive special operation unit in Taiwan; however, it was dismissed in 1999...... :( :( :( :(
(acording to some unproved information from my former schoolmates who are now 2nd Lieutenants....The S.T.F didn't be dismissed.... :backhand: :backhand: )

Are they using that israeli bullpup modification of the M-14?(can't remember the name)

Israeli M89SR

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/4236/m89srqu9.jpg

The Technical Consulting international (TCI) Model 89 Sniper Rifle (M89SR) introduced in the mid 1980's. M89SR is an Israeli made bullpup version of the American made M14. The M89-SR is designed as a dual purpose weapon. Designed for both urban anti-terrorist operations as well as a battlefield sniper rifle. The rifle is based on the M-14 rifle in a Bullpup configuration. 7.62x51mm NATO Similar to the AWC G2, the M89 is a bullpup conversion of surplus US M14 rifles. Actually, the semi-prolific (but not entirely successful) firearms designer Dr. Nehemiah Sirkis started the ball rolling with his bullpup conversion called the M36 in Israeli service. However, these were not entirely ideal and TCI was tasked with upgrading them. The upgraded rifles became known as the M89. There are two models: the iron sighted M89AR intended for battlefield use, and the scoped M89SR intended for CT/HRT deployment. Even with the addition of a sound suppressor, the overall length is still less than many standard rifles without a suppressor.

Mr. Wang, do you happen to have any photos on the Army's 101st Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion? Also, I've heard that the Navy's UDU was disbanded and absorbed by the CMC?

Okay, just to clarify things, would it be possible for you to list which ROC elite and SOF units are still active? Because I'm now officially confused as hell.
