Question for those that have a LE history.

I'm trying to locate some of those little pouches that would hold revolver shells, you would pop it open and the shells would fall foward and down out of the leather pouch.

I realize that the majority of LE Agencies have switched over to semi-autos, there must still be a place that sells or stocks these???

Not sure Geez, when we still had wheelguns we used speed loaders...

I was worried that might be the case, hopefully I made sense, the pouch would lay flat on a duty belt.

I think this is what I'm looking for????

There were 2 versions that I had. The first was called a dump pouch; it held two Bianchi Speed Strips. You popped the snap and the pouch fell over so you could grab the tab on the Speed Strip and do your reload. The second type had a snap cover that covered six rounds held in loops (they also had a version that held 6 rounds in two round groups so you could top off your wheel gun in twos - very chic) that you pushed the rounds from the bottom and fed them into your index finger and thumb to reload the cylinder.

My dump pouches were made by Bianchi, the other one was made by Gould & Goodrich.

I only used them long enough to save money to by Speed Loaders & Speed Loader pouches. Which made you a HSLD pistolero. They are very old school/retro. Good luck trying to find them.

Geezah, I think those pouches are way older than you. In the 70s, speed loaders where the thing,

Probably, the thing is one of the guys we shoot with was well impressed with my Taurus and was toying with the idea of pushing the Taurus as a back up gun for his department over the Kahr's.
During the conversation the idea of these dump pouches came up, and it was mentioned it would be cool to see if we could source them.
I'll see if I can come up with anything tomorrow;)

You might try some pawn shops, old cops stuff. I have a friend who competed in match, he was the only guy with a wheel gun, he won. I strongly feel it is the shooter more than the firearm. Most departments today, just do not provide enough trigger time for their officers. Buying all the stuff in the world will not make a person a better shooter, he maybe the coolest looking one though.

Although the CDI factor should not be ignored, statiscally cops with revolvers had a higher hit percentage than do cops with pistols. I guess, "I only have six, so I better make 'em count," is better than, "I've got 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 (or whatever) so I can throw a few."

I remember seeing a guy with a 6" 686 in uniform and thinking, "That's just BAD"

I'd really love to find a Colt Python. I loved the trigger on that thing. Christ was it smooth.

The guy we shoot with, I would say gets plenty of trigger time, but I'm sure he would disagree, he is a crack shot shot though.

I do plan to spend plenty of time on the Taurus and just an FYI Meijers is getting out of the ammo business, so everything is on sale. I cleaned the one up by my house out of 9mm and the one near my work out of .38spl.;)

What I meant, there are Officers that unless the department, pays them, provide the off time from duty, the ammo, etc, they would not practice. Like many of us, we shoot our own ammo, our own time etc....... some officers also do that too. Departments generally, from those I have talked with, just don't have adequate resources to provide the training.
