Sorry for the long title. I was picking up some primers and factory rounds and the prices have skyrocket since Christmas. Just wondering if its the same in your area.

YES!!!! And it is not looking any better. Cost of components is going up too. Brass, lead, powder etc. 30% in just one month on some powders.

Yeah I got half a pound of powder left...I should check the prices next time Im there and if they are still low, Im going to load up as much as my pockets can afford.

Powder, primers and bullets are all going up. I think stocking up is a the Word right now. I notice a lot of websites and stores are running low on it. The local bulk ammo place, runs out as soon as they get it. I think some has to do with the D's and that bill being in committee along with international market for raw materials.

Yea I don't know about reloading, but like Hollis said, the prices here in Oregon have been going up like crazy.

Well, better late than never! However, if you haven't been stocking up for the past 5-10 years, than you are have missed the bus.

ammo price has gone sky rocketing the past year. even the old trusty WalMart Winchester USA ammo has had a price jump of over 20% and look at another jump in late March for another 20-30%

5.56 ammo price especially... went from normal 150.00/1000rds to the recent 230.00/1000rds and still climbing.

How come 5.56 is on such a rise? Recent war/world event influence that?

That beeing said I just got 2k of SMK 77 grain bullets :)

your not joking, i Saw some surplus .308 in my local gun store that was roughly 62 cents a round. At that price id rather shoot new manufacture stuff

Meijers guys, the prices are still at a decent level due to the stores getting rid of their ammo. I have picked up quite a few boxes of 9mm and .38spl.
$12.88 a box of 100 WWB 9mm and $8 box of 50 .38spl, again WWB.

It's not bad, the 9mm wasn't great as it was the old Wal-mart price but it works.

damn I paid $10 for a box for .38 last weekend. It was only $6.99 for 50 rounds of 9mm too (tax free) not too shabby
