View Full Version : So I picked a good time to go to the DMZ.

So I'm an English teacher here in South Korea (Busan specifically). Went on a USO tour of the DMZ, the same day 5 North Korean soldiers crossed into the DMZ and the South responded with 40 warning shots. The next day North Korea went nuclear. That Sunday I was lucky enough to get treated to a really nice hotel room in the financial district of downtown Seoul. It was kind of eery to think of what the place would like if the North really turned it into a "Sea of Fire."

Anyway like I said earlier, I wrote about it my blog, a quick summary with a cool set of pictures. Check it out and let me know what you think:

I had a thread regarding the "axe murder" incident here http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=77020&highlight=bunyan

The link at the bottom no longer works, but I'm seeing if I can find an excerpt from Singlaub's book somewhere.

I think that made everyone chuckle.

One of the highlights was when our USO officers simply toldof stories about all the shenanagens that go on at that place. The place is simply surreal.

I would love to go there, but as an American, I just don't think it's really possible. And if it is, it's quite expensive I believe.

I wish I could find the link mate, but there is one around of a bloke that went there recently. Was posted here I believe. Shows the inside of North Korea and how wacky the place is. Scared the crap out of me.
