They're from the HJK page on Forsvarsnett. On a series of pages showing the entire year of fallskjermjeger training.
http://www.mil.no/haren/hjk/start/Om_HJK/fallskjermtroppen/
It might be interesting for people here to read and see, so i thought i'd translate some of the stuff from that page. First off, Norwegian fallskjermjeger is not airborne infantry per se. If you want to compare it to something, British pathfinders is the best comparison IMO. They're organized under Norwegian HJK, which roughly translates to Army Special Forces Command. However, as these guys are all conscripts receiving one year of training, there isn't really any continuation in the unit to be able to call them SF. Anyhow;
Basic Training & Selection:
This years basic training and selection was held between 20. July till 15. August. 216 hopefulls reported in at start. Initial screening included a medical checkup, physical tests and a swimming test. After this phase was over, the number of recruits who would continue on to phase two had gone from 216 to 150. Phase two is roughly the same as a normal basic training in the army. It lasts for three weeks and teaches the future soldier the very basics of being a soldier. How to handle a weapon, compass and map, firstaid and other field skills. In addition, in FJ-selection, it serves the purpose to further remove those unfit to continue the course.

Of the 150 who started basic training, 112 started selection itself. The individual is tested as an individual and as a member of a group. Emphasis during this phase is placed on physical and psychological stamina, as well as taking care of yourself in extreme conditions. After selection, the number 112 had fallen to 26.

Monday, the 18. August the 26 people left started their FJ-education. The first week was for the most learning skills on personal weapons. The Canadian C8 (Special Forces Weapon) and P-80 (Pistol; Glock 17 for those not Norge).

Parachute Course:
In the time between 25. August to 3. September we were taught static line jumping.
http://www.mil.no/multimedia/archive/00029/bakketrening_29736a.jpg
The first week was ground-training which was ended with an exam in the parachute-tower.

Monday 1. September, we went along to the airfield where an Airforce-C130 was ready to take us up to 1200feet. After two intense days the platoon had completed it's required five basic jumps and OC-HJK awarded the trainees with the coveted jump wings.

Survival Training
The course duration was one and a half week and is split in two. First is a theoratical part with lections and and tutoring. Thereafter a practical part where you get to try out what you've learnt.
http://www.mil.no/multimedia/archive/00029/Ut_p__tur__aldri_sur_29720a.jpg
The following things were taugt during the course:
- Improvised equipment
- Navigation without a compass and map
- Hunting and fishing
- Edible plants
- Living outdoors
- Fires and heatsources
This years course emphasized navigation quite a bit more than before. the FJ-trainees were sent on demanding marches in unknown terrain with maps they'd made themselves, but without a compass. As a result of time deadlines, most of the marches had to take place in the dark, and during the whole course the trainees had to take care of themselves. That be water, food, shelter and heat.

Advanced Shooting Course:
(not that much of a translation this...)
The next three weeks in the course has been to develop shooting skills to surpass what you learn during basic. The two first weeks were individual skills, placing emphasis on safety, precision and attitudes. When we got to week three, the group was considered skilled enough to perform six-man drills contact drills, breaking contact from an ambush using firing and movement. During this course, there were also personnell from the FSK (Norwegian army special forces) to give some helpful pointers and such.

The shooting pictures Grim posted was from this course, so i won't post them again.

- Tactical movement (The patrol are to move longer distances without being seen or heard)

- Recce, CTR's and the such.
When the trainees complete this course, they embark on Ex Hjortefot. This is an exercise to test if the trainees are good enough to become fallskjermjeger. An extremely demanding, but also rewarding excercise. When and if completed, the trainees are awarded the maroon beret and title of Fallskjermjeger.

http://www.mil.no/haren/hjk/start/Om_HJK/Troppen_02-03/
K4F,
Cheers,
Marcus
