Hello,

Can anyone tell me something about those training rifles:

They are made from wood, no moving parts, about 3/4 "real" size. They look similar to Hitler-Jugend rifle I once had....

Any ideas?

Thanks for help,

K.

Converted Enfield? .303 to .22

It's not even remotely like any Enfield.

Looks something like the one used by the Germans. Navy Arms had a bunch of repros of them about 13 years ago.

I would look there first.

the stock and buttplate look russian. Like a dummy M38 Nagant carbine

It's probably a training rifle for soviet boyscouts, or whatever their youth group is called...

the rifles are in Poland, the are quite simple - no moving parts, the don't seem to copy any real gun.

I am betting on HJ cadet rifles.

I know that it'd be cool if it was an HJ rifle because that'd fetch more money. But it's a post-war communist polish training rifle baised off of the M38 carbine. Look again at the similarities

Good thing I'm not in the Army. :-)

HJ used a k98 in .22 cal. This is def not German, most likely what it's been compared to above.

From someone who's done drill with and fired the Lee Enfield...no.

My guess, as suggested above would be a Mosin Nagant replica for cadets.

hmmm... now taht you pointed out the differences, it does look like a simplifee Nagan model...

HJ also had similar ones - I will try to find a icture somewhere.

Thanks!

no similarities with the rifles posted above

i think Gerald is the closest to the truth. straight bolt, the stock looks like a M38 or a M44, front and rear sights look like sights you'd find on the mosins, overall aesthetically they look very close.

I think it's a Polish Trainer, as basically stated before. I've seen them for sale before, even as firing/functioning rifles. Miniaturized M38 Karabin.
