New Scope: GRSC's new 1-4x illuminated CQB scope

Ed Verdugo has been making sling for over twenty years, he initially developed the sling end plate for the AR15.

Ed also developed the CQB reticel for IOR Valdada.

The reverse horse shoe has been a great success for IOR and from the different scope available from the IOR line up that are build with Ed's CQB reticle.

But not only did Ed design the reticel but he also has a few other tricks up his sleeves. when he approached various manufactures to build his scope, he was turned down by all of them.

He finally got feed up with the rejections and decided to build the scope himself. But the only manufacture that has production capability that fit his small budget was a Chinese optic company. He took the dive and had then build his third and final prototype. the inital units were build by IOR, and US Optics.

The final prototype was tested by me for its concept of a easily used mid range scope. power is only 1-4x with illuminations and his improved CQB reticle.

I believe this makes for a great ideal mid range scope. the glass are very clear, no blur around the outer edge and the reticle is a front focal plane set up which allow for the reticle to be the same size no matter what power setting you are at and a side activated illumination. only thing about it is the illumination is not powerful enough for day work.

This scope is currently being test by some serious folks over seas and also a few over here Statesdie. It is surviving the harshest climate and abuse and with great results.

Some might be apprehensive about a scope made in China, but for the price of 350.00 to the consumers, his scope is well made, robust and very very clear. I think it is worth a serious look for your mid range 5.56 needs.

1-4x 24 power. the illumination is on and off at only the 0 mark, it is not like the S&B which shuts off the illumination in between power settings.

Power factor are marked at every half power increment.

The green mark is the hash for the illumination, but production model will have a more professional notch build into it.

This reticle is fast up close but not as fast as a EOTech or Aimpoint. but for mid range/CQB / general purpose, this reticle is very efficient.
once you learn the reticle design, you can quickly place shot on target out to 500 yrds. look at the two circles on either side with the 5 marked on it. it is just big enough to bracket a head at 500 yrds. if the head fits inside the circle next to the five, you just move the target to the cross in the middle of the two 5 circle and shoot. the center is a 1MOA dot with the hourse shoot a clear 18MOA.

that is a 1600.00 scope... a little differnce in price.. :)

In regards to the reticule, are any of the dots on the the horizontal plane "lead markers" similar to the Horus Talon? Or are they more for shot correction in regards to windage?

well if you say its good to go ill take your word for it. ill have to a keep a eye out for it when it hits the markett.

for the price, it is not a bad investment, I will try to get some more pics of the reticle at 1X to give you a better idea if the reticle is busy or not.

Wouldn't a target wearing a helmet mess with the range-finding system?

The circle is suppose to be 10inch so a human head is about 10" top to chin. with a helmet on, you will fill out the black outline of the circle. this will get you in close enough to make a chest shot. This was not desing as a precision scope but a fast reacting 1-4x CQB to 500yrds scope.

do you still need to retain proper eye relief when its on 1X or does it act like a conventional 1X reddot without a proper eye relief like an aimpoint or eotech?

yes, you still have eye relief to deal with, but I made shtos in SBU ****e at a 50yrd target with the eye relief completely off and still made the shot. the parallex isn't bad at all.
