Last year I was on a plane from Stockholm to Brussels with two Swedish soldiers who were wearing a lightweight M/90 camo set in ripstop fabric. I didn't have the chance to ask them what issue it was, and I haven't been able to find anything on it. Since the two Swedes were also carrying some briefcases, I presume they were coming from NATO or SHAPE HQ in Belgium, so the uniforms are most likely issue. Anybody have more info on these sets? And perhaps some ideas on where to get them?

Also, where can I find Swedish velcro-backed arm flags? I know you guys are very patriotic and such, but I will wear them with respect just as I wear your Swedish national football shirt with pride ;-)

Det swedish uniforms that is in M90 are as follows:

Fieldcap 90 Camouflage
Subvariantas of this uniform exist, like M90P for tankcrew e.t.c.

Summer variant of M90 (M90L)
Fieldjacket 90 Light Camouflage
Fieldpants 90 Light Camouflage
Fieldhat 90 Green Camouflage

Desert variant of M90. Manufactured in ribstop material.
Fieldjacket 90 Tropic Beige Camouflage
Fieldshirt 90 Tropic Beige Camouflage
Fieldpants 90 Tropic Beige Camouflage
Suspender 90 Tropic Beige
Fieldhat 90 Beige Camouflage

Tropik variant of M90. Manufactured in ribstop material.
Fieldshirt 90 Tropic Green Camouflage
Fieldpants 90 Tropic Green Camouflage
Suspender 90 Tropic Green Camouflage
Fieldhat 90 Green Camouflage (The same as for M90L)

Trials started in June 05. And the uniform are now in "active service".
The M90 Tropic Beige Camouflage Uniform

The M90 Tropic Beige Camouflage Uniform (Afghanistan)

The M90 Tropic Green Camouflage Uniform (Liberia)

The Uniforms are hard to come by. The swedish Armed Forces have seen to it that the uniform don't get out on the civilian market.

What do you mean by hard to come by? The M/90 was available in shops when I was in Sweden the last time. I picked up a pair of M/90 pants at 'militaryshop' in Gothenburg. They didn't however have the M/90 beige tropical camo but said that it was something they could order from Recon. I also picked up a SACCI backpack that I have been using now for the past 5 years. The damn thing just won't die!

Yes, the regular M/90 is readily available, bought myself one in the Militaryshop in Stockholm. But I was looking for the lightweight M/90 ripstop, which are harder to find apparently.

If you come across the M/90 ripstop in the tropical/desert camo then please let me know. Wouldn't mind a set myself.

Never seen an officer with M90 Tropik, M90L (Summer) is pretty much standard though.

They are available if you really need them. But Swedints stock was just enough to supply the force in Liberia and some other units. Maybe theŽll be seen more frequently on wannabies now that our commitment in Liberia is over.
