I was looking at my grandfathers old WWII Army uniform, the patch is a Red 4-side diamond with a white castle in the middle, anyone know what this unit or division or whatever this is from?

As far as I can establish, your Grandfather wore a patch that would place him with an Engineer unit.

Does it look like any of these?

1. 18th Engineer Brigade.
2. 20th Engineer Brigade.
3. US Army Engineer School (Brigade).

Thanks, it looks more like the second pic, except it doesnt have the white border, and it's a 3 tower castle with a torch in the middle( forgot to add that in my origional post)

Have a look at the third picture I've just added.

It may be that your Grandfather's unit was disbanded after the war. All my
references are for the post WWII period.

Good luck with your research!
