Were these related to the Browning MGs?

Was the belt feed the modern 'push through' type?

The M73 was a simplified Browning series MG for use in US tanks IIRC, designed for the 7.62 NATO cartridge so I presume it was a push-through feed. It was also not very well liked due to insufficient reliability and was replaced by the MAG in AFV use in the 1970's.

Yeah, the M73 was a coax weapon on the M48 and early M60 series of tanks, IIRC. Never very popular, much like the M85 .50 cal machinegun.
