part of the discussion on this topic has already been done:

Draw your own conclusions about the operator with the 1911...
This is actually one of the very few cases which I would say this could be Delta. The story around this is they were going in to 'inspect' a possible chemical weapons production facility... High-value target if you ask me.

This Video (http://video.cgi.cbsnews.com/video/video.pl?url=/media/2004/04/26/video613608.wmv&sid=201) indicated ID cards found were from a team tasked with the WMD search, Task force 121 perhaps, or whatever it was called?
And look on the sleeve of the operator. What position does XP1 denote? I don't quite recall the explanation given back with the 'deer in the headlight' photo and the Talib prisoner ...

I was not aware of the 'Deer in the Headlight' video, so I can't comment on the XP1 patch.
What are those straps on the bottom of his pants? Part of the NBC suit? What is that black pouch on his stomach?
SOF don't carry 'special' ID cards. Mil ID cards are the same. Less is better, the less you have to ID what unit you are in, the better. My desert BDU's don't have anything other than my rank & name (not even a specialty badge).
Also - why would a high speed unit take the time to back the HUMVEE's up to the target?
Just something for you guys to ponder.

Were Humvees always outfitted with dual bullet deflectors?
The building was obviously ****y trapped, so id imagine their was something in there they didnt want ISG to find.
A satellite photograph of an area raided by U.S. forces, marked 'SECRET' and credited to the Iraq (news - web sites) Survey Group, lies on the pavement after it was recovered from one of four U.S. military vehicles destroyed in a large blast in north Baghdad April 26, 2004. An explosion ripped through a chemical storehouse, setting four U.S. military vehicles ablaze and inflicting American and Iraqi casualties, witnesses said. Troops appeared to have included members of the Iraq Survey Group (ISG) hunting for weapons of mass destruction, according to identification cards found at the scene. *******/str
f*** reuturs. Its marked secret for a reason. Couldnt we have the person that took the picture detained for giving out war plans?
Also, i think after they blow up our trucks, we should roll in with an airraid and destroy them, thus keeping them from looting and preventing propaganda.[/img]

No one is really gonna know who these operators are. They are obviously Special Operations Forces, just don't know who.

Id say Marine Force Recon, it seems like most Recon operators have adapted the F.S.B.E. armor or Interceptor armor, and clearly one of those guys has it, it seems like if they were Delta in a CQB op like that theyd be using PT or TP armor.
Just my thoughts though.

Argyll claimed to have been 200m away from the site when the explosion happened, so all we know the "soldiers" might actually have been PMC:s......

Talk about 1st SFOD-D obsession
Here is a question someone might know. Are those humvees of the same type that Israel agreed to allow to go to Iraq instead of Israel?
They look different - maybe they are not but the glass/doors look different and there are some grills on the back covers that I don't recognize. Maybe I'm crazy, but if those armored humvees are in short supply and these guys have them, it don't necessarily mean they are Delta, but it does mean they have high-speed gear that the regular units aren't seeing yet.
I ain't saying they are Delt cuz I have no idea, but those Hummers are different to me. Anybody else catch that?

I'll throw an update since I'm a quote in here:
My thinking was if they bomb blew up as they were crashing the building (assuming it was HSLD fellas) then why would the HUMVEE's be parked all nice and neat.
However, if the bomb was delayed a bit, and the drivers had time to park nose out, then that could explain it.

yeah, I caught that. They are the new armored Humvees that were destined for Isreal. I asked about the dual bullet deflectors for the machine gunner before...

....Sure, because this "super elite Delta Force" would be using over 10 year old out-dated body armor..... You will never know if this guy even belongs to this "delta force".... and why the hell does it even matter? Can't you just say hes an american SF guy, and leave it at that?

cause driving off and positioning your crew served mounted weapons is kinda hard when you are parked in a cluster **** w/everyone pointed all willy nilly, even LSHD mf know this.

Stoli has a good point. Ms. hank and I are both LSHD m**thaf**kas and we can't park for sh*t. The other day, I came home from work, and the driver side door to my wife's car was wide open. And it was raining. Good thing there were no Iraqi insurgents with chemical weapons hangin out in Knoxville. I might have made the news.:D

I'm almost positive these operators were Captain Kirk, Spock, Bones, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, Chekov, and yes even Khan played a role in this.
C'mon, Seriously, It was not Force Recon or PMC's. It could've been "Delta" it could've been TF-121, it could've been SF or SEALs, it could've been whoever the U.S. Military arsenal decided to send in there. We just don't know.
If I am not mistaken about the Hummers, Special Operations has had these Armored ones for a while.

I don't see any FSBE in these 'megaforce' photos
either RAV or Paraclete plate carrier (same company)
