I'm really tired of seeing the loss of servicemen and women being exploited as a way for the liberals to point to reasons we should be out of Iraq. Last year nearly 150 police officers were killed in the line of duty, we've lost nearly 600 in the last three years. Maybe we should stop fighting the war on crime because of the high body count. I guess Normandy was a colossal cluster fvck. The Civil War accomplished nothing. It hurts me deeply to know that we are losing people every day, but you can't accomplish some things without paying a price.

try taking that same comparrision with the number of total troops in theater and the duration of the statistics - that does not compare apples to oranges - the longer your forces are in the area the more likely accidents are to happen - the more forces you have in the area the more likely you are to have accidents - considering the number of unfortunate events that include forklift injuries in the staging bases it is not a valid comparision as displayed.

In regards to Spain, if you take the amount of soldiers vs the casualties, we see that as a percentaje of the total, Spaniards have the highest casualty rate in Iraq (close to 1% of total troops there) in regards with the number of people sent over there when compared with ANY one (per example the US should be close to .6%). Also to be taken into consideration is the fact that until March, the coalition troops were in quiet areas, whereas the US was deployed in the Sunni areas and in the north.

Unfortunatelly he is not MIA but KIA... (body was found 9 April 2004)
And to make it clear I posted this not to start a flame war or whatever, but to give you some info about number of those who sacrificed their lives.

Estonia has higher...ratio 1 KIA but there are 30 of them so it makes 3.3%.
