A lot of women would like this day never end. They would like this kind words of compliments last forever. It is more important because we are here, thousands of kilometers far away from home. On the other hand the women’s day is a special occasion for every man to thank women for love, devotion and for that they are with us.

What kind of gunshield does the armored FMTV behind the ASV and to the left have? Never seen that type before... The one partially visible on the right side of the pic seems to have an armored cupola like those fitted to up-armored Humvees...

And these HMMWVs appear to have partial armor fitted...

@ghelp: as far as i know, patients with cystic fibrosis have a life expectancy of a maximum of 30 to 32 years at the moment - if the diagnosis was conducted very early. the most patients die earlier due to lung failure, the entire life expectancy of the concerning person depends also on the grade of the detected cf.
a very tragical fate.

It varies from individual to individual. I think whats kills you from cystic fibrosis isn't so much the accumulation of mucus (since you can use chest thumpers to clear it), but if you get a lung infection or any kind of infection that can spread into the lungs it can be a bitch and a half to treat due to the accumulation of mucus, and most patients tend to die from infection.

Im not 100% sure but I think thats what I remember learning in genetics.

A Ugandan soldier prepares a tank for shipment to Somalia at the port of Mombasa in the Kenyan coast, some 480 km (298 miles) southeast of the capital Nairobi, March 8, 2007. At least nine Somalis were killed and dozens wounded when a rocket fired at African Union troops hit a restaurant in an ambush that also slightly injured two of the peacekeepers, officials said on Thursday. The attack late on Wednesday was the second in as many days against the Ugandan troops, the vanguard of an AU force that became a target the moment it landed in the coastal capital Mogadishu on Tuesday

one of my teachers in highschool was at the time of his death the oldest living person with cystic fibrosis(54) and he died because of complications for pnemonia(sp) he was diagnosed(sp again?) when he was around 20 and told he only had 1-2 years to live, so if the person is strong and lucky its possible for them to live for quite some time longer than originally diagnosed...

I have CF myself. And most of my friends that i have known that had died before they were thirty. I am 19 I have problems at times like right now i am caughing up blood . it comes and goes in spells. there are severe cases and there are some that aren't so bad i spend at least 2-3 out of every month to 6 weeks in the hospital. I was told that if i got the flu it would kill me . but it wasn't as bad as the pnuemonia i had in january.
depending on the severity of his case he probably has at least ten years to live .

Afrikaners dressed as Anglo-boer war British soldier pose during Afrikan singer Bok van Blerk's concert at the Roodport school on the outskirt of Johannesburg, 08 March 2007. Interest in the life and career of General De La Rey has recently made a resurgence in South Africa as a result of one of the Bok van Blerk's songs "De la Rey". The song is about a Boer soldier who, towards the end of the 2nd Boer War, after Lord Kitchener had implemented his scorched earth policy, and had burned the Boer's farm to the ground and put his wife and child in a concentration camp facing almost certain death, in desperation and contemplating the destruction of the Afrikaner nation, calls for General De La Rey, a powerful figure even amongst other successful Boer Generals, to lead the Afrikaner Volk (people) to victory. The Department of Arts and Culture responded to a request for a statement on the song's potentially subversive lyrics saying that the song was "in danger of being hijacked by a minority of right-wingers", defending the composers' right to free speech and citizens' right to oppose the government through constitutional means, but warning that "those who incite treason, whatever methods they employ, might well find themselves in difficulties with the law."

Quote from 'story':
"He has the intestinal fortitude. Because of his medical condition, he's tough," Barnett said. "I was shocked he asked to do this. He's from Connecticut, he's a city boy. He could have asked to go the Super Bowl. I have a touchy moment every day with him."

Man I'm sad he got this condition. But I'm glad that he got the chance to do what he really wanted to do.
In the 'story' it also says that some those troops he was around came back from Iraq and that they really wanted to do this.

Man this is heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. :-(

BTW, "intestinal fortitude" ;-) Thats a cool way of saying "guts" :)
