haha, anime on the nose. It makes sense that you would only see anime on Japanese jets, I just didn't expect it. Good pics.

If you are interested there's an article on AirInternational of this month about the foreign users of F-15 Eagle (Israel, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Sud Korean).
Sound interesting....

I heard from last year that the South Korea signed a deal with
Boeing to purchase the F-15T, but it will be several more years
before the ROKAF actually start using it.
The F-15Js used by the JASDF are the licensed produce model
manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The flight controls,
avionics mission computer and weapon system are similar to that
of the F-15A/B model, although they can also be upgraded.

Ghostwolf,
the F-15 version bought by South Korean is -K no -T; and it's an advanced version of the current F-15E in service with USAF.
The F-15J is a local version of the F-15C no of the F-15A.

I always liked the way F-15s looked with the meatballs on the wings. Thanks for the great pictures.

Cool nose art.
Will the Korean F-15 be built under license in Korea or will they be built inthe US? Japan is the only nation to build the F-15 under license, correct?

Correct, until the Korean contract, the Japan was the only other builder of the F-15 (even if the Isreal F-15s of the first models -A/B/C/D were extensely modified in loco). The Koreans will build the F-15Ks apart for the first prodution models.

Are your sure? AFAIK all the F-15Ks will be built at the Boeing factory in St. Louis.
Incidentally, FAS is wrong about the F-15I (and out-of-date about many other things as well): it was never offered with the APG-63(v)1. The only radar on offer was the APG-70I, a modified version of the APG-70.
Oh and gorgeous pics!

Oh, my fault: I have made a brief research and you are right DLodge. The SK F-15 will be built by Boening and they will be delivered between 2005 and 2008.
Here the link:

For more info about the SK F-15K:

and some news about the F-15T (probably tha last model that would be produced); The Government of Singapore has selected the Boeing F-15T Strike Eagle as one of three aircraft in the short-list of platforms to be evaluated in the Invitation to Tender phase of Singapore’s Next Fighter Replacement Program:

...and yes FAS.org is dated. Sadly, the site was not upgrated in the last months.
Finally, if you are interested in the USAF F-15s, buy the April issue of AirInternational. Steve Davies presents an overview of the USAF’s two F-15 variants, their systems, capabilities and future. It's one of best articles about the Eagle that I ever read.

I'll definitely have to pick that issue up somewhere. Have you read his book, "Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle: All-Weather Attack Aircraft?" It might be hard to find in Italy, but if you can get your hands on it, it's absolute gold (and for anyone interested in the F-15I it has lots of juicy details that you won't find anywhere else).

Dont' worry! We have a national distributor, called Tuttostoria, that import all the mayor books about military/aviation matter. I will check their cataluoge when I came at home.
Do you ever read International Airpower Review? It's very professional, just as little sister, Combat Aircraft, is only for "young fans"1.
I know tha issue Vol. 7 have a special about the F-15: Do you konw if it worth $16.00?
Thanks a lot!

I have the old-school 1995 issue on the Strike Eagle, back when IAPR was still called World Air Power and focused only on modern combat aviation. The pics in IAPR are excellent and the articles are pretty good, but the special about the F-15 was written by Steve Davies (the resident F-15 expert among aviation journalists it seems) so it won't include anything you can't find in his book.
Oh, and I checked out the current edition of Air International today. It has an excellent Davies article on F-15 exports, including info on the F-15J and new dirt on some of the F-15I's covert systems...

I have bought 2 issue of the old World Air Power in the '99, tho one with F-22 special (probably the best article that I have ever read about the Raptor) and issue before with the Hind/Allied Force article.
Frankly I liked more World Air Power than IAPR, probably 'cause I'm more focused on modern aircrafts.
Well, I must wait anothe week to see in Italy the last AirInternational....
