Interesting indeed, though the first attempt at making a "stealth" or "invisible" aircraft was French and not Russian.
In 1914 I think some French dude made a recce plane that was sort of invisible from the ground up, through the use of strong lights directed towards the ground creating a sort of blinding effect vs. onlookers down on "mother earth".

There was also a German Bomber in WW1 that was half covered in transparent material too iirc.

well i think the british were the first to make a "stealthy plane" it was made out of wood...

well i think the british were the first to make a "stealthy plane" it was made out of wood...

Apparently the north korean's use this sort of "string bag" aircraft because of the low radar cross section. It maybe very old and slow, but when its made out of canvas and wire and fly's low, it can be stealthy.

I don't know about a Sopwith Camel on radar, but i'm pretty sure this thing that was used by the US Army in 1908 had a low radar cross-section:
