Ive allways wanted to know what those things around the 50 cal. barrel are? Looks like they would keep the barrel from recoiling back.

Thats a blank adapter for the M2. It keeps alot of the gas inside the barrel, so that the weapon has enough recoil to move the action and load the next round. Its for training purpose only.

I do like their headgear. What NV stuff they use?
ITT AN/PVS 7 (Google) and ITT AN/PVS 14 (Monocular)
Helmets are PASGT helmets and Gallet TC-2000 (aka MICH) helmets
