dear foxpaun,

i been following this thread for years but never written any comment before. so im here to share something on what you guys are discussing about NON-MALAY in forces issue. before that, im a non-bumi serving in armed force as an officer. trained in western country as cadet. i joined the service at young age, now im 24 yrs old.

i don't know much about the cadet police stuffs…well i can tell you about wataniah part. In short word, WATANIAH is a POLITICAL medium. (not the UMNO, PAKATAN politic) political within the forces. They have quota in wataniah (army), PSSTLDM (navy), PSSTUDM (air force). lets call them reserve forces, these reserve force will be recruited according to the quota(they will say there are no quota but there are!)
All the tri-service will only recruit you if you have something "extra" eg: sportsmans, dancers, singers(for god sake, this is real).

let me give you an example
Many of you know Nur Suryani, national shooter.(pls google of u don't know) she is a Lt in TLDM and she is a regular personnel (not the reserve forces type). She commissioned last year as sub-Lt and to surprise she was under medical(cannot run,do hard work but she goes for shooting training almost everyday..funny kan?) the whole year while she was trainee, eventually she commissioned as officer in ROYAL MALAYSIAN NAVY. WHY? because the navy needs her, she can make the navy proud when she win medals. so the reserve forces is one of the way to recruit personnel with something "extra" -there are A LOT them.

hope you understand, foxpaun. (if you think this is unfair, i cant do much because THIS IS MALAYSIA)

so thats why. you applied for Skuadron-skuadron Semboyan Medan AW. This is a specialize battalion. they only take members who work in the Telekom Malaysia. This is why you are rejected..

My advice is try to apply again at this address. Good luck and please fix the attitude.

oh ic! then the Wataniah got real problem. if their specialize battalion as what u said, why in the time open house in sg besi base they invite us(public) to join this regiment? second, if they really like what u said, why when we fill in the application form they didnt tell us? why they didnt tell us when us toke interview and test every things? and why the officer call me back for re-apply again? the officer got attitude problem main-main with the ppl who want to join in wataniah? u r talking **** my fren...

1 year? Phew! Even in the armed forces, the selection of the officer took less than a month. After selection only then you will received the long term training according to your branch. Maybe about 1 year or more.

oic.but when d time in sch. we only train every monday, wednesday after sch(toke 3-4 hours) and saturday (toke 4-5 hours)

I don't think those were PASKAU. It's Johor Military Force/Askar Timbalan Setia Johor. They are the only one who are using the 70 pattern camo. About the SG-553, there are a few units starting to use it after PASKAU issued the rifle.

it seem they not using standard issue boots there. some of them using more comfy boots. maybe MAGNUM. are they GGK? can't see the blue lanyard.

p/s : cheer up guys...i apply two times the TA but no answers until now. but it is not a big point. maybe try to apply for the 3rd time soon. this time i'm going armour... can't afford to run fast as an infantry. my stomach getting bigger.

If my eyes are correct....cross draw on drop leg/thigh holster brings lots of problems. Slow draw, Snagging, which also adds to other problems with the mag pouches location now on the strong side thigh & slow reload

Malaysian Armed Forces' 23rd Chief of Army, General (GEN) Dato' Sri Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin is in Singapore on his introductory visit from 6 - 8 January.

This visit underscores the long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Malaysia. On 6th January, GEN Dato' Sri Zulkifeli visited the Motorised Infantry Training Institute (MTI) at Kranji Camp.

This is the first time that a foreign counterpart is visiting the Institute since it was inaugurated in October 2010.

MTI is one of our Army's newest training schools which provides crucial training on the Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV) platform.

While at MTI, GEN Dato' Sri Zulkifeli received a briefing by Commander MTI SLTC Jimmy Toh on the Army's latest developments in motorisation and urban operations.

He also took a ride on the Terrex ICV and the Light Strike Vehicle.

He will also visit Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean, Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Neo Kian Hong and Chief of Army Major-General Chan Chun Sing tomorrow.

1. you lied about the army housing scheme. The so called 7 % discount to malay soldier are a lie because you have no idea about how the army take care its personel housing.

2. you insult an officer by smearing him and his colleague rank in a public forum. The very same officer that you go and apply your application.

3. You think money are more important than the safety of the country.

4. You are probably slow minded. But i already told you the sungai besi camp is a Semboyan Medan AW camp. I also already told you that it only take selection from Telekom Malaysia staff.

If you apply at that camp ofcourse they will allow you to join the selection process. Then they will cross check if you are a Telekom malaysia staff. if you are not they will reject you again. If you apply again AT THE SAME CAMP ... THEY WILL FREAKING REJECT YOU AGAIN. There are no information about your previous application to the selection officer. This not the hollywood, you think everything is online and ready at the flick of a finger? Oh for God sake its WATANIAH! Not the regular army.

My advice is FIX THAT COCKY ATTITUDE of yours if you want to join the army or the police. This is a genuine advice. You already insult me once. I will not tolerate any insult. Bear that in your mind.

So i said, and i quote: "you now have a better chance getting in the Mexican army than malaysia army with that kind of attitude"

3. i read back all your post and i remember correctly that YOU DID THINK MONEY AND FAMILY ARE MORE IMPORTANT. Think about all the 110000 military personel who read you post. You just said their family live poorly and they cant keeps end meets.

4. No you heard me first time. YOU ARE REJECTED. and what the hell is an Air Defend Regiment? YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT UNITS YOU ARE APPLYING IN. .... i already advice you to RE APPLY AT THE ADDRESS i gave to you.

If you apply again at the same camp. I will personally give the DARWIN award to you.

Regarding the FORCING THE NON MALAY to the armed forces.

Its a different issue. I was comparing the success of SAF in having the chinese in their military and the lack of our own Chinese citizen (only 2%) in our armed forces. I point out the best way to deflect all the REDICULOUS excuse to defend OUR COUNTRY.. are by forcing them through the National Service. Yeah thats right FORCE THEM.

This issue are unrelated to yours. You did apply which i am happy about it. But you whine with that offensive attitude of your about the officers and the army it self. This i cannot tolerate.

KARACHI: The five-day multinational naval exercise ‘AMAN 2011’ was formally inaugurated by Commander Pakistan Fleet, Vice-Admiral Abbas Raza, on 8 March 2011 and will continue till 12 March 2011 in the Arabian Sea under the arrangement of Pakistan Navy.

Exercise AMAN was an effort to promote maritime security awareness in the region and provide a common platform for information sharing, mutual understanding and identifying areas of common interests.

The participating countries, besides, Pakistan include Malaysia, Australia, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Sri Lanka, UK and USA. The observer countries include Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Djibouti, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Libya, Maldives, Myanmar, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Oman, the Philipines, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sudan, Thailand, UAE, Ukraine and Yemen.

The Consul General of Malaysia in Karachi, Mr. Mohd Khalid Abdul Razak accompanied by Madam Aniza Khalid and all Consulate Officials visited the participating Malaysian fleet i.e. KD Kelantan on 8 March 2011 at Karachi Harbour. The Consulate team was received by Commanding Officer Captain Zahairi and his fleet officials. The hour long visit was fully beneficial with a guided tour and briefing on the overall operation of the fleet.

No doubt, the multinational exercise is an initiative by Pakistan Navy to uphold the image of Pakistan as a peace-loving nation attempting to promote peace and harmony in the region.
